GEC Stainless #42 in Elk.

My first day with a #42. Although I love having the capability of a large knife, it's almost silly looking because its so big. However with the lanyard on it, I like it all lot more and it doesn't feel as much like a traditional that's too big. I'm liking it more and more each hour I carry it today. It weights virtual nothing in my pocket!

Very nice. I love the Elk scales.

A very nice knife to be sure, but am I the only one that noticed the size of that flower behind it? That thing is HUGE!

Thank you and yes the hibiscus are huge here this time of year. The bush is over 5 ft. in diameter.

Nice!!! I don't see that Vic around very much.

It is very rare for sure. I have a secret love affair with this version of the Vic marlin spike (sacking needle) and aspire to collect every knife that has this tool, but I know how unrealistic that can be. They tend to be very pricey and hard to find. Believe it or not, I paid less than $40 for it a few years ago. NIB

Very nice! I am intrigued by the Le Garonnais knives I've seen posted, they appear to be a real workhorse with a pleasing look. That huge hibiscus is a beauty as well!

They are well maid, fair priced folders. I love the juniper wood handles and the aroma that they produce. As willgoy stated below, watchout for your fingers, the springs on these things are 11s

Le Garonnais knives mentioned earlier, they are very big tough macho types! The spring on my Ebony one could chop a finger no worries :eek: Well, the French did invent the guillotine after all:D
Thanks, Will

It really is a large folder and on the upper end of something I would just carry in the pocket.

Thanks all for the compliments.

Same #48 as yesterday. Aside from the wonderful variety of the #15s, this my be my other favorite pattern:

Mr postman brought me my newest single GEC. This thing is way better than any melon tester I have ever held or used. It is used and got it for a steal.

I love mine. Is that what its considered, a melon tester?
This sweet #15 just arrived from Esnyx. I think I'll slip it in my pocket for the rest of the day.

That pivot is awesome. He does great work.

Also, thank you @Primble for your compliment a while back (I haven't posted here in a few days)

Two different traditions:

I don't think so. I don't own one but I've always thought of the Ben Hogan as a slim copperhead.

The 89 was GECs melon tester, or melon whittler.

Saying that, it's all subject to interpretation, you say tomato, I say...
