What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A rather small AG Russell whittler with BG42 blades and stag scales, a Case stockman in 154cm and red tested barnboard bone in one pocket, and a Fallkniven TK4 + a Victorinox Farmer in the other. (I really am overknifed for most situations, and i should downsize. Maybe i'll do it next year, when i turn 30. :D I envy those who're able to carry just a single knife.)

Day-am! That's a really nice little knife!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

In fact that's such a nice little knife that if I saw one like it in a shop, it may sway me from a peanut as a watch pocket knife.

Did I just say that? (:D)

Carl.

Thanks Carl. Its still hard to imagine you without your Peanut. ;) :D :D

All kidding aside this Equal End Senator pattern is really a fantastic knife. The recent compromise from my typical minimalist edc pattern, the Case Peanut at 2 7/8's - 3 inches closed, to this EE Senator at 3 1/4 inches closed affords me a bit more edge cutting steel but at the same time operates on only one back-spring instead of two and hence, gives that sweet slim profile in the pocket every man loves. Not to mention a little more handle to grab on to which is a good thing with my larger size paws.

Thanks,
Anthony

Wait a minute Carl.
If you stop carrying a peanut, what's next? Cats and dogs living together? ;)

Texas Jack for me today (again)

Today's trusty companion is the same one from just about every other day.

Luciano,

Is it these old eyes or do I spy a burr remaining toward the tip of that knife?
Oh, the horror, the horror!!! ;)
(I'm sure it's just an optical delusion! :p

You have better eyes than I do Elliott! I had to take out a magnifying glass to check it and the burr is up on the bevel. The edge itself seems fairly polished. Maybe I should send my knifes to you to get them sharpened properly. ;)

I think it's a lot healthier to use 'em and enjoy 'em rather than worry about remaining burrs! :p

(But I would still remove it. ;))

I'm going to a music festival at a local vineyard today, and I will be carrying the Schrade 8OT I won in jackknife's giveaway.

aarya,

I too envy those people that are able to pick one knife and stick with it, though I guess if you have other knives, you might as well use them.

I got a Buck Vantage Pro for Father's day that I've been carrying a lot. I've been pairing it up with a Buck 301 for an all Buck combo.

So the traditional in my pocket for the last few weeks has been a Buck 301.

I'm close to concluding that, if I ever find a 301 with some nice jigged bone scales, it might be the only knife I ever carry. That's a scary thought though, so I'm not looking too hard.

I opened some packages and cut some packaging materials and opened some junk mail with it today. My first time to use this one. It is in need of some sharpening. It works as is, but not as sharp as I like. Smooth yellow bone and Tru-Sharp blade. I love Copperlocks!

I sharpened it up last night and it is sweet now.

Hi,

Forgive me Brothers, I have sinned!:D I've been carrying one of those new fangled sharpened prybars the last few days.

As Penance I've decided that I need to carry a Peanut for the next week.:D

Carried this one to church this morning. A little thick, but still rides nice. Thanks Old Dog!

With all this stockman talk lately I figured I'd throw this Moore Maker 5301 into the mix:

I see that knife and each time I envision myself getting the same one. One day. I love the profile of the blades and the bone! That is a great knife Elliott! I love it.

Glad you like it, Corey. It is a nice, practical size and easy carry @ 2.75 ounces.

Geez Elliott, you actually scale your knives? Now that's what I call an aficionado of the nth degree!:D
okay so I'll stick this stockman in my pocket tomorrow to keep in step with the herd. Its the only Bulldog that I have had that can keep a sweet edge. Weight unknown:p
