I've gotten into a rut as of late and seem to carry this combo all the time. Think it's time to change things up ... the question is do I use some of my other knives for a while, or use this as an excuse to buy more?

Those CV blades are getting a real nice look to them!
More is always good! ;)

Holy moses, Your picture gave me some serious problems. I always liked the looks of that jackknife but had the picture of it as a small knife. Seen in ralation to that sodbuster jr I realise its my favored size nowadays and with that looks and CV steel and chestnut....

Anyway, Im carrying my Case stockman mod 32 as almost always. Most often I carry 2 but this week it has seemed to much so just one. With the moosehunt coming up within 10 days the carry just one period will probobly be over again.

......But that swayback jack.........

Get one Bosse:thumbup: I think it's one knife with almost universal appeal, and the quality of finish is marvelous.

Today and for the whole week, CASE Slimline Trapper in G-10 with the brushed stainless blade. Slim, long and wonderfully sharp. Those who scorn CASE ss should look into it again. Most pocket friendly.

Yes.

I am going to say that you owe it to yourself to get one of those. The chestnut CV is probably the least expensive version, but it is absolutely worth every penny. I don't believe I have ever purchased a production knife I was more satisfied with when I got it. There is something about it that you just can't convey with words or even pictures.

Not a big fan of file work, but that is very tastefully done

Reviewing this thread I came across this comment relative to Elliotts fancy stockman with the file worked liners. For a collector piece, they enhance the value and this one Elliott is showing off here is very well done. Kudos to the maker!

Now one thing I like about this one is that the backsprings are not file worked which in my mind is much preferred because the file working, while pretty, does provide stress concentrations in the back spring. For a few hundred openings, it probably doesn't matter, but for a knife used every day for several years, it is a broken back spring waiting to happen, sooner rather than later.

No matter, you can see that Elliott is not wearing this knife out and it is a georgeous piece. Elliott, thanks for posting that picture.

I decided to pick up and touch up the edge on this little Remington trapper. It's not collector quality because of the crack near the center pin, but it is still a sweet little user. Nice sized handle in a smaller sized knife. I like this little pattern and the price was RIGHT (not quite free though).

It is a awesome knife. Great f&f that easily rivals some customs I have seen.

Flush in all positions, no wobble or gaps, blade well centered, seamless backspring and liners, scales well matched, solid and definitely worth the coin. :)

Please excuse the iPhone pics. My girl likes to hold on to the camera :)
