• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A 1940-1968 red bone Big Cigar Jack John Primble HDW. & MFG. Co. knife, sent to me as a gift by Gevonovich.

and a 1890-1940 Cocobola Wood handled India Steel Works John Primble Hawkbill Pruner.

Thank you Gevo, my friend.;):)

Was that 25 re-handled Scott? I like it and I haven't seen that double bomb shield on a GEC knife.

Thanks,
Mark

Those are gorgeous Primble! That cocobola looks almost like ebony, love how it darkens with time.

Looks like a Bulldog Brand made by GEC, Mark. They have nice matchstrike pulls, too.

Hey Primble, you gonna take apart some old knives with those punches??

"Beautiful work, it makes such a wonderful handle material"

Sam

Thanks Sam
It's a wonderful material to work with, it takes a lot of time preping the bark but it's worth the time for the feel of the handle.

Best regards

Robin

In hand shot eh Jack?:D

Yeah, we all have 5 fingers up here due to Agent Orange and the Northern Lights;)

Maybe you do need a trip to the eye-doctor or have you been on that 8% IPA again??? :D:D:D

Regards, Will

Sean, every time I see this one, I get a hint of sweat on my brow as I ponder....should I?

Today it's the #85.

Yes, you should. This was my first modern traditional and it's gotten me hooked. With the new #77s coming out, I'm trying to decide what to let go and this one almost made it to the block, but I like it too much. It's a fantastic knife.

That said, I have the same feelings every time I see one of those #85s. I've got a few things going up for sale (trying to not me knives) so I can fund the 77 Barlow.
