What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Forgot my real knife , but had my credit card SAK, came in handy to trim my nails. Usually I have a Wenger Alpine Backpacker with the non reflective finish, and sometimes I have a Vic Explorer.

I hope that was a fond farewell Frank and not a funeral...

That Elk White Owl is a knife I admire and it's on my want list alright! They do appear rare however.

It was the latter. The father of one of my friends. A fine old gent from whom light shone in life. I can only imagine how he shines now.

That white owl surprises me with its finesse every time I carry it.

Rats. Another double.

Hey guys!!! I'm alive still, just been really busy and trying to enjoy the outdoors of inland pacific northwest and working a lot trying to recover from a pre-emtive move from KS to ID. I'm going to try and get on here more and more as I wind down with my outdoor ventures and work on some winter projects.

Forged this guy this summer and been carrying it with a paracord wrap until I find an elk shed big enough to cut some scales. Its amazing how useful a large fixed blade can be. Also had my 2011 ezopen in my pocket most every day and its come in handy with the wide variety of beers and ciders brewed locally.

First off this is not a copy of Primbles awesome picture taking because quite honestly I know I can't compete with his tremendous pictures skills:)

The story behind this picture is yesterday at one of my Handyman jobs I had to do work on a very old "Double Sash" window. It had to many coats of paint to count. I had to get the window open as to do further work to the sill. I used my TC Barlow Pen blade to scribe and break the seal of the paint to allow me to raise the window.

Once I broke the window free (approx 40 mins in a cramped, dirty dusty attic) I was pleased to find Seven vintage coins:thumbup:

A 1943 Steel War Penny, A 1945 Wheat Penny, Two 1944 Wheat Pennies, A 1940 Wheat Penny, A 1928 Wheat Penny and a 1935 Mercury Dime. All where trapped between the bottom window and the sill, covered in white, tan and pinkish paint:D

The former painter even felt it necessary to paint the cotton cords that hold the interior wall weights:mad:

The home owner said to keep the coins which I soaked in HOT water to remove as much of the paint as possible. To me it was a really neat surprise as I love old coins. And even though the US has never minted a true Penny---we all call them Pennies;)

So just by the dates I assume the last time this window saw paint was 1945ish? And according to the home owner that sounded about right:)

So a picture of my treasures, along with the knife that freed them after all these years:D
