Never seen those before, very interesting, I'm going to have to go Googling now!
Thanks Jack. Apparently it was part of a set of three commemorating American Coal Mining. One of the Sheepsfoots has this etch
I think the other two knives in the set are both stockmen, or possibly a stockman and a trapper?
Great looking older FR! Those you just don't see these days. This old Fight'n Rooster with "scaly" celluloid.

I love this critter. Problem is, it's not out of my pocket long enough to charge up real good!
I'm carrying a GEC 48 today, and yes, that is a Wharncliffe on a trapper. I believe the proper name for it is "Improved" trapper. I'm glad Tony Bose decided to step outside of the box, because this GEC rendition sure is a fine piece of cutlery!
Schrade 194OT and Beer Scout for me today ..... again
Great knives everyone. My new old NYKC Jack and TC Barlow. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Best wishes, KBA
and Happy Thanksgiving to all
Brett - congratulations and best of luck! You and your family are in my prayers.
