What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today was a special day so I thought I should carry a special one for the occasion. Number 2 is on the way! On a side note, and to open up a bit, my first daughter has Glanzmann's thrombasthenia so there is 25% chance my new baby will as well. For those who pray, pray for health, and that we will be prepared no matter what happens.

Hope you all have a great night and Thanksgiving. There is a lot to be thankful for.

Congratulations Brett, and I hope eveything will be well my friend

Soddy Jr. today! Cypress stump handles and vine file work on the backspring. Also small swedge added to tip. Thank you Joe!

Lovely knife and work sir

Found this in my basement, the first knife I ever made, I'll have to see if I can dig up the spec sheet.

Cool Ted, did you have bigger pockets in those days? :)

Thank you Jack Black! Great look Magnum by the way! How do you like it as a smaller knife?

Thanks Perry, I like it a lot. I have quite large hands, but the angular Gunstock shape gives it better ergonomics for me than some other small knives, the angles sort of give it a bit more grip

I'll pray for you and yours.

If it helps any, I've been though the wringer with a few things like this, and I'm always willing and able to relate and listen.

I won't go into detail here, but if you ever need a shoulder, brother, count me in.

Thank you everyone for the overwhelming kindness and support. You guys/gals truly are the best out there and the main reason this site is a second home.

I just woke up so I haven't picked out today's carry. I'll be back around to post knife content later.
Edit: Managed to finally get out of bed. For wooden Wednesday, one of my favorites, the 81 in African Blackwood.

Hope you all have a great one. Thanks again.

Congrats and good luck! I have 3 kids myself and I know any complications can put the weight of the world on your shoulders. Hoping for the best.

I am carrying this little guy today. This GEC 26 gets a lot of pocket time. This often rides with my 77 Barlow.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Brett - congratulations and best of luck! You and your family are in my prayers.

I've got the day off, and hope to spend it in part catching up on the forum. Hope everyone has a great day!

It was a present from Duncan Campbellclanman. I have a Kaufman that looks quite similar to yours, but without the nice bail. Here's something else to ponder

Amundsen's knife, a Pradel - It's in a museum in Canterbury England, not in my sock-drawer by the way! :D I do have a similar knife, but it may be a fake Pradel, of which there are apparently many.

Interesting, right down to the carved initials and everything, thanks.
