What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I traded a like new TC Barlow to Lemmy Caution for the Hibberd, Spencer, & Bartlett Barlow. I figure that he thinks he skinned me purty good and was feeling a little guilty about taking advantage of a senile old man, so he sneaked an old red bone John Primble Belknap HDW. & MFG. Co. Jack knife in the box. ;)

Thank you for the little Ebony clad 3 & 1/8 inch Cattaraugus folder goes to Markesharp and in a round about way, to Rachel, who traded it to him. The knife got lost in the mail and it took two and a half weeks to get her via first class mail !!! Mark and I were both worried about it's fate !:confused::)

Thank you to Lemmy and Mark and in a round about way, to Rachel, for your generosity.:thumbup::D

My little black catt was a stray?
Glad he made it safely home. :)

The old OVB Barlow you showed today is a real beauty.

Thank you Stephen. :thumbup::)

Don't you just love an old knife with a fresh edge?

Yep and that is a fine one Rachel.;)

Started the day with the 85, but now have moved the 66 and Charlow into my pocket.

A fantastic group of knives there Brett.:thumbup:;)

It was indeed Rachel. I checked the tracking number daily and it would say Departed Detroit, for over two weeks.

Then, a few days ago, the tracking info turned orange and said Delivery Delayed. It was stuck in a little town in Illinois..

The next day, the tracking turned blue and said item is en route to destination. :o:o:eek::eek::eek::thumbup::thumbup::D

Maybe your little Catt was trying to impersonate Earl. :D

I got this Case 6318 in the mail yesterday. It was built in 2003 and the fit and finish are top notch, no blade rub to speak of and the walk and talk is very good.

Thank you David and Primble. I appreciate that.
They have become my main 3 to edc.

Carrying the Heritage Jack that I received this past week. It's pretty good for being a Heritage…Schatt & Morgan dropped the ball a little when making these. Either that or GEC is spoiling all of us :D

SAK Farmer and Puma Lonestar today.

This is a couple of days late, but I really appreciated this photo, Whetstone! I like the way the colors of your knives on Friday matched some of the colors in your avatar photo!:thumbup::cool:

Jim, that's a real looker (and a great photo)!:thumbup:
I don't really keep very close track of all the Case variations; is that shield quite common?

Thanks GT! The pic in my avatar is from the shore of a small lake outside of Watertown, South Dakota, and is one of the most stunning sunsets I had ever seen. Wish I had the photography skill to really capture it well.

I just recently picked up the same knife and would have to agree with your comments. Does yours have an extremely light pull as well? Mine does. The F&F just isn't really top notch. I'm not complaining too much based on what I paid, but you're right in that GEC does seem to have a higher level of quality standards.

Bob, the pull on mine is about a 4; ironically, it snaps open as loud as other GEC knives that I own. It has a pretty obvious gap on the backspring at the bolster and another gap by the shield. The blade is also off center by quite a bit, yet it doesn't rub. All in all, and after using the Sharpmaker to set it at 20* per side, I like the knife. I like this pattern so much that I would pay GEC money for it if it had the GEC quality. Buuuuut, since it's half the cost, I'm a content camper :D

Thanks. I have never seen this shield before and a quick search has so far not given me any info about it. I do like it tho, a lot better than the common shield they are using these days.
