Gevonovich - I haven't been able to stop staring at the jigging on that one since you posted it. A fine, fine choice for your Sunday carry. :)

It's going to be a good day!:)

Thank, Brett! Your new ebony Scout has me thinking your going to have a fine day as well. Congrats on finding that absolute beauty!

Thank you for the fine compliment, Stephen. Fausto reminded my of this one so I had to pull it out. Hal has a real beauty he posted in Elusive Schrades which we were checking out earlier today. I think it was post 1036 with some sumptuous red bone.

Thanks for the kind replie, my friend :) Much appreciated!

It is a lazy, foggy sunday here... ebony covered GEC #73 is in my pocket.

Love that great knife!

Well done on finding quite a rare pattern and one that merits more attention. I really like the bone on your knife and think you'll find it a very decent EDC, I have an Outlaw in Rootbeer acrylic but I'd like a bone version like yours, they are a good user size in my view.

Regards, Will

Thanks Will i much prefer this pattern to the later model that looks to me like a smaller Moose pattern with those big blades at either end and dont even mention that nasty etch on the blade. I have been surprised at how much bigger it feels in the hand compared to the #66 Calf Roper that i carry a lot, although lately the #68 White Owl has been my favourite mainly for lightness, so it may be that the Outlaw will be in my EDC box most of the time, but come the warmer weather when i can get out and about more, maybe i will feel the need for an Outlaws company.

Love that great knife!

Same here, I had to hike up the nearest mountain to get a bit of sunlight in the morning :).

Is that UN-X-LD stamped? That's pretty cool...

Hi my friend! Great to hear from you :)

Yes, that UN-X-LD is stamped on the blade. AFAIK this nice is rather special as there were only several made with the stamped blade and the ebony covers. The combination of long pull and nail nick is a little strange, but nothing that bothers me too much.

Old Hunter - I'd just carry that one again!

Humppa - I like that deep etch, and the grain on that handle is great.

Gev - That's a classic.

Iv'e this 25 with buffalo covers which was kindly gifted me by Andi before my sons birth. Andi knows about my love of the WLST and insisted on sending it along with a few other gifts..

..who am I to refuse :)

Papa Andi included this stunner as well (please excuse the photography, I'm still poorly with the dreaded lurgy and am shaking like a leaf) which I am not carrying today as it's a little big for me to legally putter about town with but is great to use in my garage, garden, kitchen etc...

here it is with the 25 for scale

I'll quote Andi's letter here:

"Next to this I'm sending you a Ludwig Grethen, Solingen. It is a contract production made by Friedrich Hartkopf, Solingen. The Cutlery Grethen ran off business after WWII. It has nice ebony covers."

nice ebony covers - doesn't it just!

Thanks again Andi!

These again: magic Camillus to bring on spring, mini trapper I just can't put away, Queen BEM #9 I'm still protecting in a little pouch. I bought the Ulser Barlow yesterday.

Very thoughtful of Andi, and very generous too. I was just about to ask if the second knife was a Hartkopf! :)

Thanks for the kind post, Paul. Much appreciated!

It´s great to know the both knives now in better hands and in use as well. :)
I hope Baby Rory is almost doing fine, as well as you and Claire?
