That is a nice lookin Western. Looks like it may have a little Schrade Walden heritage

What is the stamp on that Western? And how long is it closed? I've picked a few up from time to time.

That really is a beauty Elliott. The bone looks especially nice on that one, I like scales that have subtle variations in color.

Thanks, Christian. If Ken keeps at it he might be pretty good someday...

;)
:p

All of these incredibly beautiful knives!!! and all I've been carrying for the past month or two is a new (2010) but lowly Buck 305 Lancer with "Dyamondwood" scales and "Comfort Craft" finishing. Granted I'm a city boy but, amazingly, it's taken care of everything I've thrown at it. Who Knew???

Happy Thanksgiving to all,

Rudd

PS - No, I don't plan on carving tomorrow's turkey with a Lancer - although, on second thought, it might be an interesting experiment.

CSC Stockman. I received it this week from the bay. Looks well used by the previous owner. I cleaned some gunk off and used a little flitz to polish the blades a bit.

Hi,

You are going to look very good carving at table with that set Christian! I need to find a good carving set.

I have my trusty, but somewhat lonely GEC Barlow in my pocket today. The springs are wearing nicely. I don't need a prybar any more to open it.:)

Thanks Dale. I got this set because I'm not yet ready to pony up the cash for a Randall carving set. I picked it up for a song on a certain online marketplace. I like it, but most of my family doesn't share my appreciation for an honestly earned patina. They think it looks old and needs to be retired.

Yes very admirable Carving set there Christian:thumbup: I get my grandparents wedding present out at Christmas-a stag poultry knife and fork. These old carving sets bring some nice history to the table, and they slice good and thin too!

Today CASE Texas Jack that 'dressed' a couple of pears for a snack :D

Regards, W

Love that Ohta Christian. I think his work is among the best bang for the buck out there, particularly the stag examples.
