What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My 52 year old Boker Tree serpentine jack, given to me on my 10th birthday. First knife I ever owned!

That sounds like the best knife one could hope to carry, lucky you:thumbup:

A GEC Northfield 73 in stag liner lock is always about me these days, but I did slip a Buck 309 sawn delrin Craftsman ,sent to me by a fellow forumite, in there too:D A small knife is an essential stand-by.

Today it is this

well, as of today. Bought a Case Yellow Handle Sodbuster.
and my swiss highlander and classic (still not sure if saks count as traditional or not),

But yeah, after reading the forum for a few weeks, i bought my first traditional knife and will be edc'ing it from here on out

I can't make up my mind these days. I have a Spyderco Lava and Menefee Trapper in my pockets today.

Big change out for me today, expecting some Santa surprises next week. So for today this Ulster gets some love.

Three slipjoints

The Victorinox Huntsman is in my bag always.

The others two are by Shing and by Queen/Dan Burke - just put a polished convex edge on the latter. Most convincing :)

I got home last thursday for some well deserved(at least I think) r&r. Since I last left, She Who Must Be Obeyed picked up this Ulster Scout for me, knowing that I had been drooling over it at the local shop. We then went to the local flea market where I couldn't resist the Old Time 104OT and Imperial pen.
I then got the Rough Rider Sunfish. I've been really wanting to try a Sunfish for quite some time. I wanted to know I'd love it before spending a ton of money on one so I got the Rough Rider. I'm pleasantly surprised. Fit and finish are very good and it is really sharp.
I'm glad that I have cargo pants, a good belt and plenty of knives. The Sunfish sits in my left front pocket and the others go in right side pockets just to even out the weight.

Since I've been home the weather has been spectacular so I've been ignoring the computor. It's been a great trip home.

Glad to hear you finally have a chance to get out of that truck Mack. I'd say you were way past due... Sounds like my "Weather Dance " worked for ya :D Enjoy your time off.

That old Scouts a dandy. So do you like the Sunfish enough to get others ?

If I am considering buying an expensive knife in a pattern that I haven't tried and am not sure about, I would buy another Rough Rider first. For the money, this one is amazingly well made. The more expensive ones will have to work hard to have a better fit and finish.
Thanks for the weather dance. It worked perfectly.

probably a #48 GEC in cobblestone, I got for my 25th birthday this year
oh and I have 2 of this one ;)

feelin' GECky lately

Today I carry a fallkniven U2. I was attending the worldcup in Biathlon yesterday with faily and as it was -20 degrees celsius and not so experiensed people there mabye wanting to borrow the knife while eating picknick uotside I thought it would be good. This morgning I was in a hurry and forgot shanging it. the U2 is a good lockback but I sure miss my case medium cv stockman that I use to carry every day.

Bosse,

If I were outside in -20 degrees Celsius temperature I would be frozen stiff like a piece of hard candy! Y'all are a hardy bunch out there!

I carried a downjacket of canada goose type over wool and fleece sweathers and thick thermothrousers over 2 layers of thick wool and fleece longjohns. I had nokia rubberboots with wool insulation and 3 pair of wool socks, the gloves was sheepskin with wool inside and the hat a windtight mountaintype with woolinsulation. I also had a wool handerchief and the jacket also had a thick hood. Wife and sons has the same type of clothes. we brought warm thermoses to drink.
Think of the skiers working at 90% of maximum hartreith and shooting 4 times with frosen hands, them are the heroes.
One carries a knife in the outer layer of the jacket though as its cold to open the clothes to reach inside.
