What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice Viper! And, cool photo -- what is that material that the knife is resting on? Looks like a couple shredded pine cones, maybe?
The 47 Viper is one of my favorite GEC releases to date. I really like the swayback pattern for a utility/work knife, and this one is (thankfully) a decent size, with its 3.75" frame. My hands aren't *that* huge, but all these 3.5" knives are just too bleedin' small for me! I need a work knife to be large enough to comfortably handle some work! ;)

Thanks. The knife is sitting on a big squirrel 'midden' of pine cones I found at the base of a tree. They had been busy!

And I totally agree with everything you said about the Viper. It's just the right size, imo. Next time we see a run of these, I'll probably grab another.

Possibly my first photo contribution to this thread. Hope you got some good news today, Andi!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! There's no better web-community than the Traditional form here on BF.

For anyone considering one of Ohta-san's knives I highly recommend them for both their quality and the dedication of their maker. His communication and willingness to help is exemplary.

Could not post pics yesterday, took the afternoon off after Fed Ex broke my BMW front differential,, these knives were with me as I took the dogs out

Bit late with the green, but this one yesterday and today.

It has just about the best walk and talk of any of my small collection.

Actually not, Jack. It is still as bad as it was last week. I gonna have the date afternoon with the specialist and see what he is saying. It is terrible to hang around at home, without being able to do anything. I was just fetching a basket of firewood for this evening. Had to do some chopping, something I do everyday in winterseason. But now I had to change my shirt due to sweating

I hope this plague can be cured!

Very sorry to hear things are no better my friend. I hope the specialist has had some good news for you

Now that is one gorgeous knife, Jack! Keep it away from the Gunk while cleaning:D

Thanks pal  Hard to believe anyone would call ANY product 'Gunk'isn't it?! :D

Wearing black, until something darker comes along.

:D

Thus far, 2015 is living up to its moniker as year of the sheep:

Nary a hint of (yellow) brass in the bunch here. Just the way I like it:

Out in a new (for me) part of the Michigan woods today - brought along my trusty 125 and stopped at various spots for pics (of course):

It's been a busy 2 weeks with lots of travel and a new family member. The new pup is like a baby...cries when I leave the room and naps a lot. Of course our 4 kids are wearing him out! He is a Basenji and unusually dark for this breed. Breeders refer to this as a mahogany color which is similar to a brindle. Anyway, I am reading most posts but just not able to post much.

Curtis

Congrats on the new dog, Curtis! That's a good lookin' pup!

You put a killer polished edge on that crown lifter, Robb!

I haven't done anything except sharpen and use that knife. I think it must have been the light combined with my emerging (read: poor) photo skills! :D

I don't know if I believe you, Robb. ;) That looks like it was sharpened by a master and stropped to a professional edge. My knives come out sharp after I scrape 'em across the bottom of my coffee mug. But they always look like they took a ride in a gravel truck with all the scratches I put on the blades! :p

Tom - A beautiful pair of Jacks :)

Erik - That 72 gets better looking everytime I see it :)

Robb - That Crown Lifter looks scary sharp :)

Kris - That is a beautiful trio, Love that Stag Whittler :)

Kyle - Those things are addictive aren't they :)

Sonneman - Nice herd of Sheep going there :)

Derek - Beautiful photos and a Teriffic Knife :)

Paul - Northwoods Fremont, Imagine that!! :)

3 Days in a row! That is a record for me! :D
