Was carrying this guy today, had it in my pocket this past Friday when I received the ring also in the picture.

In Canada all graduating engineers are given an "Iron Ring" which is worn on the little finger of their dominant hand, to remind them of their responsibility as an engineer to protect the public from harm in all of their works.

Congratulations! I had never heard of this tradition before today, I like it :)

Oooohhhhh...... I always wanted one of those Marbles Sports. Beautiful knife. Those Stewart-era Marbles are just flat out amazing.

Great looking knife, derek :)

Great looking knives are getting pocket time lately. I love this thread - propably my most visited in the whole internet.

Its a great little knife.

Its right at four inches closed, seven open.

...

It dwarfs the regular toothpick it came with, but the size is perfect for pocket carry- big enough for most any regular tasks, and small enough to slip in a pocket and not be bulky. I'm thinking of using a 301 instead, but I love how slim this knife is, as I don't notice it as much in my pocket.
I got one of the gift tins for my girlfriend on our anniversary last November, and she loved them, but the more I looked at that 388 the more I wanted my own, so a few months ago I found one on clearance and picked it up. My other traditionals haven't seen as much use since then. I wish that Buck would start producing more variety, but I understand that unlike Case the majority of their business isn't done with traditional folders. I'd particularly like to see them make a two blade folding hunter again, with either delrin or wood, but I doubt they'll ever do it. One can still wish though!

Thanks much for the extra info, FordRanger; I really appreciate it, and admire your 388.:thumbup:
I've come to really like a 2-blade toothpick, and at least one of my grandfathers used to carry them. ;)

Camillus #69 this morning.

You sure do carry some fine old slipjoints, Mr. Bloefield!:thumbup:

New Lloyd, old Primble.

Another dandy daily double, Tom! Both old and new are fantastic!:cool:

I agree, the iron ring tradition for engineers is new to me, too, but a great idea! Congrats on your degree! :D

Perry - thank you sir!

Primble - nice setup today, and rusty skills or not, that Colt 1911 has got to be fun to shoot. :)

Yep - it is a lot of fun my friend !!! :):)

Got me on that Hartkopt. What the heck is a Hartkopt :confused: - something I like, regardless ! :D:D

Heading out to the fish & game club for this beautiful April Fools day. Thought I would bring along Todd's old soup bone, reasoning that it might feel right at home. ;)

I suppose I will find out how rusty my target skills are.

Maybe OW's silver dollar will bring me some luck ! :D
