That's it...black and gold dyed box elder burl. It's more subtle than that description though. It's more of a black/charcoal/grey/green/gold/yellow/antique burl and it's much better looking in hand!

What's becoming my "old trusty..." The northfield 77 with a Sheepsfoot blade. Carried it every day for 5 months now. It sees a lot of kitchen use, tomatoes, apples lemon / lime, etcetera. Lots of kitchen and general utility use.
