What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Stephen - It is good to see you around the porch :cool:

For some unknown reason your carry today reminds me of Mr. Jack Black :D

Today I chose this 55 in Bocote :):D

Hope everyone is well and had a terrific Wednesday :D

Terrific looking Bocote ...with all the talk about alternative woods/scales to the Bocote on the 2015 forum blade; if this could be used on the CSC shadow, my hand would be raised immediately to approve!!!

How did you distress it?

320 and 600 grit sandpaper :)

Ever have a twinge of buyers remorse? happened to me yesterday, might have just been the day, my mood or what, but got this in and while pretty and nice, decided nah and posted it up forsale straight away...then, a few hours later...I came to my senses lol and made the right choice in withdrawing such a silly notion, it is a very nice knife and man is she sharp, so she's being taken to work today!

I think we have all most likely experienced buyer's remorse. Glad to see you gave it more time.:thumbup:;):)

The weather this May has been foul: storms, downpours dark&gloomy. Need a heavy coat on outdoors, that being the case I felt like putting a heavy one in my pocket. For all its inconsistencies and annoyances, this Queen Heritage Woodsman retains a lot of appeal. The very nearly knife, but even so, I like it on such a day.

I love it. It's light (2.2 oz., I think), smooth, and rounded, so it has a great pocket presence. The handle is long enough for me to get a four-finger grip, the pull is just right, and the overall aesthetics are right up my alley.

For my daily needs, the cheaper steel (compared to the lovely IRJ) is just fine.

how do you like that scout Dadpool? I really like the simplicity/looks like a good alternative to the IRJ to me. Long pull spearpoints :)

You've sold me~ On a 99 or the next run of IRJ though..
420HC is no slouch in my book, easiest knife to hone a hair whittling edge on for me and I enjoy it immensely

it's not yours till it bites you, I really enjoy the simplicity of a fixed blade with me these days, put a mirror edge on my BHK North River and it slipped and left a crescent in my thumb. Excuse the rough looking paws.
