What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The Maratac Copper is something else Brett, I love mine and how quickly it changes. Beautiful GL Drew and a nice long time no see with your Northfield 81~

Will never get rid of this one. Ebony Jack and some patina to accompany to the hospital.

Major_Works...excellent looking Case!

That dogleg is looking good Tim, we can see you're putting it to good use!

Great feathered horn on your railsplitter Jeff!

Combat...what are you going to do when you work the life out of that beauty!?

Brett, congrats on getting your bday present back. Don't ever sell it again! (did the wife ground you? lol)

I dropped a few hints yesterday about Ken Erickson's ebony because of Brad's post. That knife is stunning. After posting pictures of my jigged bone Erickson a month or so ago and telling everyone how happy I was with it, I said I would be on the lookout for another. Brad contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in a 3-5/8" trapper in some "exhibition grade" ebony. After emails with pics and just friendly discussion, I decided that I can't let the opportunity go on by. So, the deal was done and I received this a few weeks ago. Like the Dowell swayback, I've been patiently waiting to show it.

The ebony on this knife is something else. It's so absolutely smooth and jet black with the finest grain running through it that can really only be seen in good light. Brad, thank you so much, I absolutely love this knife!

Shadow trappers are wonderful Jake, that ebony is exceptional. Beautiful Ebony. Mirror polishes are hard for me to use but I took the plunge. Darkens up nicely/Bob did the mod for easier use and it begs to be such :D

Jake, I had a suspicion you snagged the Erickson clip from Brad. The Ebony is truly stunning in person, photos don't do it justice

Thanks to those who complimented. :)

Tim - I do love the Maratac, but my daughter has taken it over. I have to find it each morning after she plays with it. She has given it a nice patina imo :D

Jake - :D She didn't ground me. I think I actually won a few brownie points in the reasoning to sell it. I'll tell ya though, it won't be sold again. :D Love that knife of yours!

Major - Don't you just love looking for something to cut sometimes :D

For some odd reason I am craving a banana  :D

It's quite the solid and now very sharp folder ;)

Haha more reason to move up to a peak eiger or a Prometheus Beta QR2 eventually so you both have copper ;)

We find reasons to carve up again with knives. In the pocket so why not use them~

Switched it up after getting home to a Inox and Carbone Opinel to start carving into.
Extra wildlife surprise: Didn't realise robins had roosted again in the front door wreath until I saw a mother robin screeching at me with a worm in her beak.
(We've never taken the wreath down since we moved here and they nest there annually)

Lately I have been carrying around a Buck 501 with micarta scales that at some point was rebladed. What a great little lockback.
