What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Spent some time at the range today working on fitting and getting the new Skinner peep sight dialed in. Not the best group but it was a little tough with the wind. It's shooting real good, especially after doing a trigger job on it over the winter. Not bad for iron sights :)

That's my kind of pic Sam, beer and ebony(?)! :) Cheers!

Still carrying these 2 today . The 77 has been my EDC since I received it and the 73 has also been in my pocket since I received it.

G.T. :The Background Boards are actually a side of an old box that was in the house we bought in 1973 and when we built a new house , I brought it with us. I know nothing about the company mentioned. I just thought it somewhat appropriate for a background for something that chops..

Harry

Harry, I've been quite absorbed by your stag 73. A lot of people go on about matching sides, that's not important to me in a stag knife, what matters is that both sides are interesting and attractive and your example has it in spades. I like the pin work on it too, they look nicely domed. All too often GEC sends out knives with horrid sink-hole pins especially around the centre pin. Various people have attempted to 'explain' or excuse this feature but I'm having none of it, flush or domed pins always look better, always endow the knife with quality. They can do it as I have several GECs with flawless pin finish, many of my other ones don't though.. Another aspect with stag is that it always comes into its own if it is Barehead, shows the beauty of the antler rather than truncating it with an end cap.

Congratulations for showing a very fine specimen

Thanks, Will

Thanks for bringing Harry's knife up again Will. I missed it before, and it sure is a beauty. Good post too

I have a very similar Henry 22 and it is one of my favorite guns. The lever is as smooth as a 90 year-old Winchester and the gun can shoot! I also put a set of Skinners on mine and it really makes the gun a capable squirrel getter. I spent way more time than I should have and modified the front sight to take a standard M16 front sight post. I will never part with that rifle!

Your SBJ is a beauty, Ron; wonderful weekend wishes to you as well! :D

- GT

Thank you GT:)

Sam - That is a terrific Ebony 73 Sir! :)

Harry - That 73 is gorgeous  I love that Stag more each time I look at it :D

I had my work buddy with me today :D
