WOW Ron - super old red bone trapper. I suppose hiding' in the dark guarantees that rich color's integrity. Thanks for the chance to see that beauty !!!

Nice pics of it too !:thumbup::thumbup::)

That is a good catch Jake. I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice that. I bought this one from Lyle at the Blade show. It's a second, there are a few out there without shields. I wonder if more will show up out in the wild?
Nice knife! Does it it not have a shield? I thought they all had a bar shield.

Good catch Jake, I missed that lol. But now I wonder the same??

I sure do like that Whittler, Phill! Your collection is growing by leaps and bounds with quality pieces! Thanks for the look.

Thanks Gev! It's a pretty nice piece, but I suspect it's been fiddled with. The coping blade has no snap and the spring sits low on that side. Either the blade was swapped out or someone messed with the tang. Whoever it was did a nice job putting it back together though. The main blade still snaps like a trap. All the blades do have the same tang stamp.

Rob, thank you for the compliment  That means a lot to me coming from you my friend, I really appreciate it :D This Trapper is a '72 or '73 I was having trouble counting the dots. Some of my older knives seldom see daylight outside of the safe. I think I need to start sharing my modest collection with my friends here on the porch :D

Carried these two today. I lost my mom today, I carry a heavy heart on this 4th of July. I love you mom and I will miss you.
