What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very good looking Old Gent that[emoji106]

Be nice to see a contemporary manufacturer offer one of those with suitably long blades and short bolsters, that one looks like Rat-Tails? Impressive.

Thanks, Will
Thanks! Picked it up for a song at a flea market that was going out of business. Someone had reground the main into a spey who's tip was well above the frame. I ground it back to a spear. I figure the main has lost maybe an eight to a quarter inch from it's original length.

And yes, rat tail bolsters. No shield though.

My favorite Barlow.

Beautiful one Bob

Today in giving this panama linen Barlow a little time in the sun (and the pocket). Built like a tank this one is.

Really like how fine the thread is on that one Lemmy. You can really catch on all the individual fibres.

Another fun mail day. Outta the mailbox, and into the pocket :)

Well vacation went great, did some great hiking in the forest, didn't get eaten by any sharks in the ocean and didn't lose either knife I took. The hike we did involved some climbing which was a nice change. Not as technical as I was hoping for but I still felt like a mountain goat at times.

Upon return I quickly made it to the Rendezvous to meet some great members, talk about knives, see some collections and add to my own. These Ancient Barlows are awesome. I didn't see a bad one that Charlie had. Anyone on the reserve is in for a treat because every single knife is different!!

Great looking knife Jake. It looks like you are just having tooooooo much fun this week.

Harry

Yep...back to work today! Working OT on my normal days off this weekend as well so that I can make up for this past week and a half LOL

I'm back from two weeks of canoeing, fishing and hiking the Adirondacks. It was a great time, with the Remington R-4 as my only knife. The R-4 was well up to every task I threw at it, and every implement managed to see use. The sheepsfoot, saw and spear each got a ton of use.

Now that I'm back, and have opened all of the boxes on my front door step, the R-4 is getting a few well-deserved days off, and the chestnut saw cut bone Beer Scout is pulling the weight. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like this knife.

I'm having one of those "Why didn't I think of that!" moments. Well done! Did you do the mod yourself?
