JJK,

That's a nice looking muskrat! I like the red case emblem. Your stag has a more reddish color than the ones I have. Is it red stag?

I forgot to confess: I kinda cheated on the patina on the mercator, used in to stir my pepsi with peanuts at noon, as well as my hot toddy at night with it. ;) But after a couple of days it went back out of my pocket in my knife box, I just now start to carry it again.

With Tropical storm possibly turning into Hurricane Fay and making a B-line right over my house, I figured I'd get prepared. I went out shopping for batteries, water, and non-perishable foods for myself, my wife, and specially my daughter. Filled up my van's gas tank, and cleared the porch of any possible flying debris. I then prepared my EDC. What did I grab? My Leatherman Wave and my Case Peanut. How interesting is that? I have Sodbusters, a Stockman, Swiss Army Knives, some fixed blades, even some tacticools laying around from my younger days, but the knife I reach for is the smallest one of the lot. I quess you always go with what you're comfortable, and for me, it's my Peanut. With that and my Leatherman, I am ready for ANYTHING.
Bring it on, Fay!!!

She is churning us up pretty good right now.. (I am south of you ElCuchillo in N Palm Beach County) I am on generator power here as I write this. Got my Yellar handled medium size birds eye stockman # 33044 from the 1970's in my right pocket, in a leather buckaroo and a Treeman fixed blade on my right hip. The Leatherman Wave is in the old Ford PU truck.:D

Thank you
It's not red stag - It's my camera -
The red shield is kinda cheep looking really; I wish it had no shield on this one.

Ok, so, I am now carrying my Peanut and Swisstool. I broke my Leatherman trying to unscrew something. Damn.

Sunnyd, hope you get your power back soon. Just had to sew up my front right trouser pocket as my Schlieper large Stockman (yellow handle scales) has worn through in two spots, so would like to know where you got that leather buckaroo? Thanks. John

How you hangin in there, sunnyd? You following the news? The storm is going out into the Atlantic, turning into a hurricane, and coming back into Florida. How crazy is this thing? Hope you and yours are doing ok.

Gents, let's try to stay on the topic of "what traditional knife you're carrying" and take personal messages and questions to PM's and email. Thank you.

Things are good. Thanks. I trust your family was hunkered down and stayed safe as well!. Here is what I opened up with today first thing this morning. .

Put up my vintage case yellow stockman and fixed blade Treeman and picked up my trusty old S&M HJ and a brand new J.A. Henckels Congress pattern in dark red bone that I won just across the way and over the ridge at the General forum. This little gem was waiting at the post office for me to grab her up and I am tickled to have her. What a blessing!.

PS {Elcuhllio, PM me or email me for details on TS Fay if you like.}

That harness jack is good lookin', Anthony.

I've got a Case XX 6231 1/2 jack in pocket today. There's somethin' about those old jacks.

Thanks for commenting on the HJ.. I know exactly what you mean about the Jack patterns. Its funny you even say that, because today I told myself, Ive got to get back to basics and carry at least one Jack every day from now on..:cool:
