What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Mike Zscherny: Wharncliffe Trapper (4" Closed, Stag, CPM-154)

Equal end, Double end, Bull Head, Rail Splitter, Moose, jack knife from Northwoods of Gladstone, Michigan (manufactured by Queen Cutlery Company). The blade steel is 1095. Ebony scales. Pinned shield.

Some say this knife is influenced by the Canoe (notice the slightly up-swept bolsters) and the Surveyor. Whatever the case, this is a heavy, stout, knife.

Case SBJ CV in my watch pocket and Scagel Fruitport in my right front pocket. Both are starting to develop a nice natural patina. Used the case to clean-up a corned beef that went in the crock pot this morning. Amazing how quick the corned beef put some more color on the main Wharncliffe blade.

I need to figure out something for Mike to make me for Blade. I had talked to him about a single blade dogleg, but now I may opt for a 4in WT after seeing yours again.

I am becoming a big fan of Wharnie Trappers. Elliott, that is a sweet one. The Case 3 1/2" Wharnie Trapper that I have in my pocket is jealous. Oh well, at least mine is orange in honor of the Illini in the upcoming Illini-Jayhawks game.

Elliott, that WT is probably the nicest I've ever seen

today i switched things up and went with a rough rider bone scaled barlow
wanted something different...

ironically after the wife broke her leg thursday afternoon, we have been waiting to get transfered to a hospital with a trauma specialist capable of doing her surgery. We just got news that we are being transfered tonight.

i am thinking this little barlow might just be a good luck charm!

There's a huge difference in the size (and relative pocketability) between the larger and the smaller WT's.
