What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carrying this little Buck 527 today. I've had this knife for years (it belonged to my dad or my grandpa, can't remember which). I haven't ever carried it much, but I couldn't tell you why. I think it's a good looking little knife.

Fine Coco on that 83, it's a pattern that's certainly satisfied me, one of GEC's best. I prefer the drop-point also, lies low in the frame closed.
Tnx Will! I really like the pattern too, just small enough to disappear in most watchpockets and quit a bit of blade.

Lookin' good ! I received my first Bark River in the mail this morning, a Cocobolo Northstar. Impressed with the quality.:)

Thanks, Primble! I love 'em. This latest one is the new Bravo Squad Leader in Desert Ironwood Burl with Mosaic pins - here's another looksie:

Now let's see that Northstar!

That lockback Chamblin is fantastic!

What he said ^^^^

For Stag Saturday, like others, I'm toting my daring 2015 BF Stag Jack.

I also had my spear and pen bladed Elephant Ivory #15 on me earlier.

But after a find at McKinney Trade Days, and an afternoon spa session, I'm just dragging this NYKC Hammer around. The seller claims it is 1890s era. I have no idea but it's clean, snappy, mostly there and still has another 100 years of life, at least.

I ran a 5k this morning so I grabbed a little-bitty redhead peanut(?) I bought years ago. Glad I didn't bring one of the nicer ones since everyone ended up getting covered in glitter ! Color runs are strange.

Thanks buddy and a very handsome set of edges you're toting today!!!:thumbup:
Thanks, Robert. :) Sorry I'm so late in getting to this thread; I thought Saturdays were supposed to be for relaxing! :(:D

...along with this new arrival
Utica%20barlow.JPG
I said it in the Barlow thread, and I'll say it again here, P&G: that Utica is a real showstopper for me! Congrats!:thumbup:

My R. David Laguiole was with me today... :)

...
Gorgeous, elegant knife, Andi! :cool::cool:

77 Soilder today.
Wow, Captain, that Soldier looks fantastic!!:thumbup: Hard to believe it's almost 40 years old!

...Thanks GT, the texture of the penknife is smooth, but the 'lines' run right through :)

Nice carry my friend, you have deep pockets

I'm off to York first thing in the morning, but will be taking these two with me :)

Thanks for setting me straight on the penknife covers, Jack; I saw a different pic in another thread (Old Friends Friday?) that made it clear that the "ribs" lie below the surface.
Also, thanks for the compliment. :) Where I come from, "deep pockets" is sometimes used to connote someone with great wealth; I don't think that connotation actually fits me, or I'd be carrying a lot more stag than I currently do! :D If "deep pockets" is to be taken as a literal description of features of my pants that allow me to carry a dozen knives at a time , my pockets don't have to be any larger than normal, but I DO have to use an "elasticized" belt that I can cinch up much tighter than normal! :p
Hope your York excursion was safe, enjoyable, and/or productive. You're on a black & white roll the past couple of days!:cool:

Heading out to Florida this morning. I slipped this one in my pocket.

After reading that other fascinating thread about Presidential nail nicks, I now think I can see the hole in this pic!! Am i hallucinating??

Some real gems posted by all. This one today for stag Saturday. Marshall-Wells with some decent covers and domed brass pins.
That's a VERY handsome knife, oldtymer! :cool::cool:

Congrats, Jeff; you sure have a knack for finding fantastic stockmen!!:thumbup:

Good morning everyone...enjoy a great Saturday:thumbup:

Stag against a hard Frost...

Superb photos, Paul! I always admire your stag 73 anyway, and to see it in the morning light with the frost REALLY shows it off!!:thumbup:

Great knives again all. Thanks for the comments on the Lloyd.

Seeing as it's Stag Saturday and I can't make up my mind I'm carrying both of these today.

A Forum Knife and an Eric's Jack.

Ken, those are splendid stag twins you have there!:thumbup:

...Some Stag for Saturday

tumblr_nwdg1d01Wy1rzq6m9o1_1280.jpg
I'm staggered by your stag, Tim!:thumbup:

All three today, so I took a snap of them out at the old place. Just before the visiting cat decided to try and knock them all down :mad: Fortunately, no harm done to knives or cat.:D:thumbup:

Terrific trio, Will!:cool: What's the wharncliffe pen knife at the top?

You sure have some fine old pocket knives, Gev!!:thumbup:

Carrying my stag 38 in honor of Stag Saturday. I forget how much I like this knife.
Paired with a delicious snack.
D.B., that stag 38 is at least as delicious as the snack!;)

This Case CV Sowbelly in Chestnut bone.

Such a superb sowbelly, Frank!:thumbup: I'm starting to drop hints around my house that a chestnut bone CV sowbelly would be a wonderful Christmas gift.

Carried this for a while today:

I've seen those Sarge carving knives at the local Woodcraft store, but haven't picked one up, though I was tempted. How do you like it?

Tomorrow I'll be toting these beauties that just got here from Markesharp:

Pardon the bad indoor lighting, but my post office likes to deliver late in the day, though I was stalking my PO Box all afternoon. :D

Nope, I thought the same too when I started investigating it, but its just a piece of debris.

I picked mine up over a year ago at my local Woodcraft, hoping it might be a lower-cost alternative to a Flexcut Whittlin' Jack. I haven't used it very much, though, because I haven't been very impressed with its whittling performance. I suspect that if I was more adept at sharpening, I could modify the blades to work better, so I'm hanging onto it until my sharpening skills get sharper. So far, I get my best whittling results with the pen blade on a Recruit, Tinker, Spartan, etc.

Congrats on the delivery from Mark! He's an incredibly generous guy!:thumbup:

Another shot of the little Buck 527 from today.
Nice. What's the handle material on that? Looks like ivory or micarta.
I've got a little one that looks like the same frame, but in sharkskin.

Thanks! I believe it's micarta. The color is more yellow in person than it shows up in the pictures.

Here's one that's closer to the actual color:
