What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Raining hideously for days on end and dark 18 hours a day already. The stray cat has been thankful to exchange her quarters in the shed with slap-up meals and a week-end in front of a roaring stove indoors:D:thumbup:

This went on wood collecting duties with me, got to keep warm.

That camembert looks a lot like a sodbustert! :D
Vialis is a great name for outstanding knives.

It is a great utility like a sod and is well made. I actually like the blade shape better than a traditional sodbuster. Full flat and fairly thinly ground, sharp, snappy, no halfstop, pretty flush in both positions, no noticeable gaps, no wobble, expertly contoured handles and pins, really nice boxwood and comes with a leather pouch. I like

What steel is in there Camembert?

I believe the steel is Sandvik 12C27.

Thank you Eric, it's much prized by me and I felt lucky to have landed it- especially here in Europe!

Regards, Will

Thanks for the comments. Gary, I am happy to have this one. I sharpened my Loveless on a 1k Shapton and a little Formby's on the handle. Besides the early years, Bob sewed all his own sheaths. I gave the sheath a cleaning with Fiebing's saddle soap. The knife cams into place for a very secure fit. Again today, with #759 in Sambar stag

I don't think I've shown my "kitchen knives" for this week, and it's almost time to select knives for the week ahead. So without further ado, here are the knives that helped me prepare food this past week.

Taramundi I bought in Seville, Spain; what jackknife says of Opinels ("They cut like the dickens") is true of this Taramundi, too

Beautiful knives gents  Sounds like a beautiful, peaceful day Stephen. I'm glad that you're getting better weather than we are here, where it's barely stopped raining for a fortnight  ;)

It really was a fantastic day. :) Here's hoping that some good weather is heading your way soon.

I have been slippin' and forgetting to post here lately. Hope y'all had / are having a great weekend. I had my lil' Schrade 708 in my pocket today.

I went for an early walk on the beach this morning. Something about the waves, breeze, and bright sunshine... :) Anyway, it's a glorious day here, and I hope it is for all of you as well.

Not sure how I missed this one earlier, but it's a real beauty.

Thank you Stephen - more pics of it in the Primble thread.

Liking that one Ron. ;):D

I picked up this 1982 Boker Whittler in thuya wood today. I just finished cleaning, oiling, and sharpening it up, and I plan to carry it tomorrow. Even at its age, the wood still has a pine/ceder smell to it.

Lots of great-looking knives folks

Great-looking Camembert. I have a friend with the same model, and I admire it often

Stay warm and dry Will

Cool bead P, is that bespoke?

Nice find r8shell, and a good job

Thanks a lot Paul, your pic isn't showing for me at the moment, but I know it's a lovely knife :)
