What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Habiru
Posted this in Wooden Wednesday, but it works for here too. The top one, still. #38 Grinling. Now with fresh patina! The other is my Keen Kutter Jack. Both in Ebony

Fine pairing indeed, that slim end cap on the Keen Kutter really tops it off.

Tim - that is a nice Wiseman, my friend!:D

Well it is Wednesday, so in anticipation of what will be in the mail when I get back home, I switched to some Exotic Mexican Bocote! ;) Have a great holiday everyone!:D

Thank you Ron, your bocote looks stunning. I've got to apply a coat to my well loved one to bring back some lustre.
Tim
The Wiseman is super and i am not familiar with the watch but it sure is gorgeous!

Tim, the covers on your knife are amazing; the whole knife is great.:thumbup::thumbup: A fine choice by a maker who makes great knives if all the pictures by people here are any indication.

Oh, and the watch looks great, too.

Thank you both, it's a Nomos inspired Rodina on a grey wool strap. Gene is a great maker and has excellent service :)

I stopped by the house for lunch today, and my favorite mail gal came by while there. I give you the 2015 Forum Knife - Serpentine Jack.

This evening, as I cook in preparation for tomorrow's festivities, it'll be this little Hubertus cigar with stag covers. About the same size as a Swiss Army Knife. I just got this one recently, and I'm smitten. It's lovely to hold in the hand, really solid with no gaps or wiggles. Classy.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Nice contrast of color Paul. Have a fine Thanksgiving ! :)

oooh, nice Russell, Rob! How old would you estimate that to be?

Thank you Dean - both of these knives are very special to me. The Russell is pre 1933 and the NYKC Barlow is pre 1931.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT!!! Is there some post somewhere that reveals your tricks to making any knife look so great?!?! That bone looks incredible!

Can't take any credit for the looks on this one sir. I found it at a knife show and was star struck with the shiny covers ! ;):D:D:D

Happy Thanksgiving to our US members :)

Ron, I think that's such a classic jackknife pattern!:thumbup: The term "pure" comes to mind when I see those Huckleberries.

Thanks, Primble. :) Actually, I'm kind of surprised that you (or anyone) would have picked the Chinese Bucks as a favorite from that little "litter". :D

...Needed a bit of sunshine in my pocket today...

Sincere thanks for your compliment, Jack (although I still wonder what "engine joints" means). :)
Unmitigated exuberance and gratitude for showing off your oxhorn lambsfoot again. Your comment and the photo remind me of an old Motown hit, Temptations I think: "I've got sunshine on a cloudy day ..." :D

Bark River City Knife with a custom Claude Scott sheath and a SAK Farmer.

Hey, Tom, it's great to see your daily fixed blade and folder choices again! I don't know if you've noticed it, but I think you were instrumental in getting a lot of folks picking up, carrying, and posting fixed blades. ;) I welcome the chance to say again, what a pulchritudinous pair!:thumbup:

This is what I've got with me today

I saw the first photo, and thought, "What a fabulous knife!":thumbup: Then I scrolled down and discovered the second photo and thought, "I have no idea what kind of knife this actually is!":confused:

I want to join Brett and many others in wishing everyone here a safe and gratitude-filled Thanksgiving! I know some of you have experienced losses in the past year, and the holidays will be different, but I hope you'll be able to enjoy the time even under new circumstances where someone dear is missing.

Here are a few more of my knives for this week.

Thanks for the compliments Tim, Rdaneel, and Primble!
It is hard trying to measure up to the amazing photography portrayed here every single day, but every once in a while I get lucky. :D

Thanks GT! I haven't used it much because I instinctively reach for my Pioneer but the few times I remembered I had it today it did the job very efficiently. I love how slim and light it is but that's also why I kept forgetting I had it on me. I may carry it alone one day if I can get over only having one knife on me.

BTW, that pen knife is

Wazu

Is that a baby sunfish?

Any chance you could post or send pics of it with a another knife for comparison. Something common like a get 15 or a buck 301.

I've been eying one for a long time but having a hard time understanding its size and proportions. I'm from pa and would love to get one with the keystone shield.

Thanks

Jim

Thanks GT! I have been away for a few months due to a loss in my family so I haven't really noticed an increase in fixed blades, if there has been surely it wasn't due to me posting my pairs daily :D. I am just lucky to have found a carry combination that works very well for me, that I never would have discovered had I not joined the Porch :).

A very handsome (I looked, there is not a better word for "looks awesome" than pulchritudinous ;) ) set you have with you this week!

I had a lot of catching up to do in this thread so I'll just summarize and say that all of your knives are ugly!!!

Carried these two all weekend and the rest of this week/end will be no different.

I bought it after work from a local shop and carried it all afternoon. It got plenty of use and I sure enjoyed it. I carry some high end folders but there's a certain pleasure using something that works so well for so little money. I enjoy my SAKs too but nothing takes an edge like carbon steel.
