What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Mike, that knife sure has it all covered!! I like its size too:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks. I've been experimenting with the ~4" range the last couple weeks, and it's starting to grow on me :)

Out for a hike with Cleo earlier, a little breakfast and now time to enjoy a beer and some football

That's a beauty for sure!

Chunky Queen Canoe was calling for a turn today. Great little pocket worry stone :)

HST, decisions!?! If I had to choose I would never make it out the door. I'm carrying both. ;)
Jake, that "lizard skin" looks amazing.

Rachel - Love that Ettrick :)

Looking good Ron

Thank you Jack :)

Nice knives everyone!!! just headed out to work...

Enjoy your Sunday everyone:)

Good to see you Paul! :) Nice Bull Nose

"Lizard Skin" is in my pocket today (girlfriend decided to name it)

Jake - Maybe your girlfriend was trying to drop you a hint of sort when she named "Lizard Skin":D

She WILL NOT be given 'Ol Lizard Skin for Christmas haha. She's not interested at all in knives Ron. She just likes to pick on me

I bought this Case Carhart for myself. Put it in my pocket for this first time today after doing a lil work on it.

I,ve been looking for this pattern a very long time, In a price that fits my budget. Thanks go out to a fellow forum member.. cchu518.. for showing the one he bought and responding to me with the info. that allowed me to own this knife.

I haven't posted in this thread for about 4 days and TEN pages, although I do scroll through at warp speed at least once a day whispering to myself stuff like, "Oh, what a beauty!" and "Incredible!" and "There's another winner!" But I haven't had time to post those thoughts in black and white, and I sure can't comment on ALL the deserving knives from the past 10 pages now that I have a little discretionary time! But a few of the ones that were "greatest hits" IMHO follow. ;)

...Carrying this Rough Rider today. Lunchtime pint with a nice bowl of chowder :)

Jack, I have an affinity for the sowbelly pattern, and that one is quite striking - a "humble" sowbelly puttin' on the ritz!!

...I haven't owned a ton of traditionals, especially compared to a lot of folks here. But this Centofante is quite possibly the finest knife I've ever owned, regardless of price or style. I'm immensely fortunate to have the privilege of carrying it. (thanks again Chuck ;))
...
Holy Velociraptor veins, Evan, that knife is sublime!!:eek::thumbup: I've never heard of Centofante before, but suddenly, in the immortal words of Elvis, "I'm in love! Hunh! I'm all shook up!"

Thanks, GT. I thought it was "divergent," must be a perspective kind of thing. :)
...
Dean, I suspect you're correct about divergent jigging, rather than my convergent jigging; I think I look at knives backwards from what I'm supposed to. Isn't the knife in question called a barehead style, with no bolster on the end opposite the pivot? But, to me, a more accurate term, and one that makes more sense to my scrambled brain, would be barebutt jack!

...The Electrician was with me today.

Great photo of an epic knife, flatblackcapo! I carry an Electrician EVERY day, no matter what else I might carry.

...Carrying these two today :) Have a good Friday everyone, and a great weekend

...
Jack, that pearl Keen Kutter is splendid!

I'll be carrying a knife of the same family given the magic touch by BB serialised 23 for my 23rd tomorrow Ron :D ...
Belated Happy 23rd Birthday, Tim!! Hope it was a wonderful day for you, and that you enjoy this year of being a prime age! ;)

Heading to Kansas City for some prime BBQ, libations, and rainy football this weekend :). Will have these along for the ride, a Bark River City Knife, John Lloyd Lanny's Clip, and an AG Russell Premium Scout. I am betting the caplifter on the Scout will see the most actual use ;).

Wow, Tom, big iron for the big city!! Triple threat!

...Hey, I've been calling this a dogleg, but it really has characteristics of a dogleg, a eureka and a gunstock (though with round bolsters).
What would you call this pattern? Help, please!

FRdoglegComp_zpsyqfvnxnn.jpg~original
I'm too "wet behind the ears" knife-wise to be of much help, Jeff. :( Based on the round bolsters and stunning stag, I'd just call it incredible! :p

Having some friends over today, so I am making some Tuscan bean soup and crab cakes with jalapeno aioli. These three are with today,

R.W. Loveless drop point, Joel Chamblin whittler and a trapper from Rick Menefee in Sambar stag.

Have a great Saturday
Kris, the Chamblin whittler always stops me short!:thumbup: I have to say though, that the background of the second photo really brought some Joy to the World with the kid and Christmas goings-on! :D

Happy Birthday Tim. :D
I think I'll carry my dogleg as well. :D

...
Classic, elegant knife, Bob!

Hey! The Prodigal returns! Fantastic to see your post, Mark!

Outstanding, Gev! I don't know what either knife is, but the one on the right is like knife "comfort food" to me!

The resurrection of an old thread made me pull out my Ettrick for a tote.

Love the shape of your Ettrick, Rachel!

Quite the Queen canoe, Mike; excellent!

Several of the knives I've been carrying/using all week haven't been posted yet, so I'll do that tonight before they rotate out of my pockets tomorrow.
A Holub electrician with a pruner blade that was pretty useful as we ventured out yesterday into dense fog/mist/drizzle to cut down a Christmas tree and set it up in the living room:

A Keen Kutter Office Knife in my watch pocket; in real life, I'm quite sure the blade on the left is a spey blade, and I hate to think why that's a choice on a knife for office use

This Rough Rider Half-Hawk was on kitchen duty a week ago, but it moved from there into my pocket this week to play the role of "Big Knife":

Speaking of kitchen duty, this week the ever-present Opinel #7 was joined by a Colt buckshot bone teardrop jack and a horn-clad Joker:

I like the look of your Office Knife, GT, and it's a Keen Kutter.:thumbup:

[GEC #83 Tascosa Lockback, clip main]

I have somethin' blue along as well, although it was too busy slaying apples to make it into the day's picture(s).

When next seen, it'll have more'n the 'finger patina' shown here:

Thanks Gev :) It's been raining so hard here recently, I'm surprised I'm not going green myself! :D
Beautiful my friend, what is the knife on the left?

Carrying these two today :) Have a great Sunday everyone

The knife on the left is an Ulster Knife Co. gents utility knife. Your picture with the file is outstanding! Both knives are superb:D

Gary
The "comfort" knife is a Schrade Walden stockman and one I am in love with cause it just makes me feel like I'm coming home to family

Ron
The orchard gem is a gem!!!

Rachel
That ettrick is a dandy

Primble
Thank you, my friend!

Sam
Thank you so much for your compliment!! See above for the answer to your question and don't hesitate if you want more info;)

Paul
Great to see you sir!!!

Sorry if I missed anyone...worn out from the long drive today!

Kris That grooved Stag is wonderful, just begs for use and admiration!

GT On the opposite end in terms of contours, your smooth Horn Joker is always a treat to see.

Neither Stag nor Horn for me today but timber. Queen Cutlery's Teardrop Linerlock in Zebrawood. I'm lucky enough to have four of these in different scales, once you get the D2 sharp it's such a useful knife.

Thanks for your kind words GT, I like your carries for the week

Very nice, you've inspired me to carry mine :)
