Grabbed a Cuban for the weekend.
Heeeerrrre's Johnny!
Snowed in with snow coming down right now at 2 inches per hour. Decided on my Redbone Stockman and the Cattaraugus 22256 Jack. The main on the Catt is a bit more used than I usually buy, but, it is still a nice solid and snappy old knife:
Guess I better get out and start shoveling.![]()

That Marigold bone on your SBJ is awesome!I haven't seen one in that color before.
Thank you for the compliment sir.

Test driving the Nieto Climber again. Day one was a complete success, thus begins day II:
Nice selection today, Tsar. I especially like that Queen Barlow. Love those asymmetrical bolsters on the older Queens.
My favorite is the sunfish!
Thanks, both me and Popeye are thrilled!
My best compass find to date, by far, was this pre-1875 F.Barker & Son model. I bought it 'blind' from a truly miserable market trader, so I was very pleased to find out it was worth a deal more than I paid for it!
Couple of links I found helpful in dating it:

This is my first post in the traditionals forum. I have enjoyed lurking around for a couple of months, I think it's about time I start contributing. I have slowly been drawn more and more to traditionals, and I think now I am completely won over. I still enjoy tactical folders, but now I appreciate traditionals equally. I think the knife I am carrying today is the perfect one to mark such an occasion!
TsarBomba thanks and you're right about Primble. How does he do it?
Primble thanks again.
Today I went with a J. Lloyd in stag and a Vic Economy Version Recruit.
Keen Kutter sort of day here in Ohio. Overcast but no snow. Stay safe everyone affected by WinterStorm Jonas.

My new Winchester 2935 for today. The pinned shield was not inletted evenly, so I had to clean up the old glue, which had turned green with age, and then re-peen the pin, and buff the shield smooth and flat on the polishing lathe. She looks sharp, now.

Do warm up the muscles before you go out and remember layers! Great looking knives!
Primble - That's a fine looking 6318 Tested XX Razor Edge. You didn't slip that out of my roll did you?

That red bone pops like very few examples I've ever seen, outstanding!

Weather permitting, I will be heading out early tomorrow morning for a trip to York. Im just hoping the town has dried out a bit since earlier in the month. I often have lunch at the place on the left in the photo above, in an area which is not usually prone to flooding. Prior to it being a pub and restaurant, the 17th century building was Ellerkers rope and twine merchants, and both the exterior and interior of the building reflect this history. Ellerkers infamously made the hangmans nooses for York prison, where the legendary highwayman Dick Turpin is among the executed, which led to the phrase, For me there is no hope was Ellerkers made this rope. You can probably guess which knife Ill have with me!Have a great weekend everyone

What a beautiful image! How cool, to see those particular shield varieties together.
However, if this truly presents what you are "Totin' today," I hope you have a strong back and stronger suspenders. Also, please try to stay away from water; I don't like your chances of re-emerging should you fall in.
But again, what a lovely array of big 'uns, presented well.

That Catt has plenty of life left. You should see the pen blade on the Remington swell-end I picked up recently. I could probably mend clothing with it.![]()
After two days of not being to get my daily carries up here (@#$%^&&** Photobucket), I finally got yesterday's carry up a day late.![]()
Thank you Primble! I saw you snag that mini off the exchange, nice knife. I got me a nice 1974 Redbone 06247 Pen yesterday. Beautiful bone and full, never sharpened blades. Some previous owner didn't store it correctly so got some pitting marks on the blades. A dandy user.Almost forgot, got another one coming next week, 1972 Redbone 06247 Pen, appears almost mint. Stay warm and dry buddy!

Thanks, Mark.Gary - Thank you my fiend! That Cudeman looks like a great knife and could tackle many chores inside or outside the house.
Tsar, thanks for your kind offer, but I hope I have enough "practice blades" that I can "hone my sharpening skills."...
If you want to hone your sharpening skills (no pun intended) without risking your EDC linesman knife, I can probably scare up an honest-to-goodness Camillus (may not be badged Camillus proper but it will have been manufactured there) for you to practice on. PM me if you'd like.
...
Your Camillus might be a distant relation to my little Boker and his big Pal.
...
Thanks, Paul; saw the Rory photos in the lounge. Thanks pal, I shall post some in the lounge so as to keep this thread pure

That's the spirit, Sarah! If you have the pocket space, you might as well slide a pocket knife in there!...These two again today:

Okay, okay, Carhartts and cold make for many pockets, so let's make it four:

shan't blow away in the wind
Thanks, Tom; the Joker I'm carrying this week is actually bull horn, but there's a very similar model available in stag (Spanish "ciervo"?) that I hope my daughter in Spain can snag for me someday. Your blue Pioneer is sweet, and that other new blue Alox (Farmer, I think) is also electric!
Thanks for the data, Jack. Congrats on your splendiferous new rope knife!
Hubba, Hubba!!...

Ravishing ram's horn, and I'm a sucker for equal end patterns, but I still am trying to get used to stockman blades in anything other than a serpentine frame. Gorgeous knife, Jeff! :thumbup:Grabbed a Cuban for the weekend.

Congrats, Jeff; that's a luscious congress!
Very interesting/informative, Jack; safe travels with your new rope knife!![]()

That I*XL Barlow is excellent, TB!
All your rope knife shots have been top notch, Jack. I like the Popeye theme, too.
