What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

With all the snow I figured I'd bring something that'll stand out if I drop it in the white stuff. 70s Precise Deerslayer Classic Lockback, kinda reminds me of a Japanese version of a Sodbuster. :)

Great pair! Also really love the case, what character, if it could only talk.

It's a good weekend for a scout:

For my smaller selection, this old Case. I've used brand new X-acto knives that didn't come as thin and sharp as these blades. About 80 years old, solid snap, no wobble. We should all be so lucky. :D

Stockman for this snowy day.

The smaller LT Wright knives look really great to me, especially the patriot. Hopefully I can get to a local gun show that LT will be at soon and maybeee pick one up.

I like stockman patterns and I really like that.

Congrats Sarah! That Gerstner is stunning! I've considered one many times, but...:). Not yet.

Is the larger one behind yours as well? Would love to see pics of drawer layout.

Yes, the larger one-- a GI-525-- is mine as well-- I've had it for a few years now.

That looks like the perfect travel chest to a knife rendezvous.

Precisely the idea. :)

Very cool Sarah. I've had my eye on that Gerstner for quite a while now. Maybe post it over in the storage thread and give us a little more in-depth review? Please, please, pretty please...

Thanks, y'all.

I will try to provide a detailed write-up in the/a Storage thread sometime soon.

This is kind of a weird day for me, I'm housesitting for my girlfriends parents, there's more snow outside than I ever see, and I don't have any responsibilities besides playing with their dogs! So I've got a hot cup of coffee, the sunlights flooding in, and I've got a little bit of yellow bone to admire today:D

Arrived today - Thanks for turning me on to these Derek...LT Wright Patriot! (with a Coyote due tomorrow!)

Awesome, buddy! I've got mine on my belt today as well. As said above, I'm sure you'll dig it. The Coyote is more of a specialized (bird-n-trout type) blade. The Patriot is a great every day choice.

Really great image there, Jeff. Well done!

I can handle anything but the bad ice storms... Great choice for the day!

Been a busy week. So many nice knives shown. From the most recent:

Jack: You have a way with words and photos!

Blue camel bone goes so well with that ice. Nice color composition!

So many nice Barlows! I don't know how you choose one over another. Is the middle one copperhead bone?

Nice knife and photo !:)

Great find ! :thumbup::D

Very nice combination Ken !:)

That pearl handled SCC is a beauty Gevo & sorry about the camera woes. If it is any consolation to you, my normal photo spot (the concrete ledge) is out of service for a while ! ;):D

Great composition, love it :)

Thanks guys!

Primble - That old Schrade Cut Co is a dandy my friend! I heard that it was quite nasty in your area with all that snow.:eek:

Gev - That is a grand old Schrade Cut Co you have there today also. You and Primble are on the same page today.

I'm pretty tickled with my new Gerstner (International) Mini-Me:

Sarah - You have very nice taste in Tool/Knife Chests. The Gerstner is definitely top shelf. I can't thank you enough for posting these.
I shared them with Pam and she immediately decided that we each needed one!:D

I have been in a 1970's Case totin' routine this week. ;) Today is no different with this 1973 Jack, 6231 1/2. The bone on this one is not as red as some of the other more expensive models of the time.
But the color and definitely the jigging is not bad in it's own right!:D

Weather permitting, I will be heading out early tomorrow morning for a trip to York. I’m just hoping the town has dried out a bit since earlier in the month. I often have lunch at the place on the left in the photo above, in an area which is not usually prone to flooding. Prior to it being a pub and restaurant, the 17th century building was Ellerker’s rope and twine merchants, and both the exterior and interior of the building reflect this history. Ellerker’s infamously made the hangman’s nooses for York prison, where the legendary highwayman Dick Turpin is among the executed, which led to the phrase, “For me there is no hope – was Ellerker’s made this rope.” You can probably guess which knife I’ll have with me! Have a great weekend everyone

I decided to add a Canoe too, seemed appropriate! ;) :D

That is an outstanding compass, and some great information as always!

Thank you sir, I still can't believe my luck in finding that one :)

I chose a sheepy Barlow from Sheffield and my CFK in green micarta today to supplement Mac, the big stockman that seems to be taking up permanent residence in my left hip pocket. I can't help but think about Jack's wonderful stories every time I carry a British I-XL, thanks to the porch. :D

Thanks for the compliment, that's a great line-up

All your rope knife shots have been top notch, Jack. I like the Popeye theme, too. :)

After two days of not being to get my daily carries up here (@#$%^&&** Photobucket), I finally got yesterday's carry up a day late.

Thanks :) It's been a frustrating time hasn't it?! :grumpy: Lovely jigging on that Barlow, and the patina is coming along very nicely

Go to love it Mr. Jack !:thumbup::D:D:D

Thanks! :D

Thank you Jack! :) Hope you have a great trip to York and a good weekend. :D

Thanks Ron, long tiring day, but a nice one :)

You might wanna check flights before heading out Philly airport shut down tomorrow and I believe Newark, JFK and LaGuardia are also. I've been stuck at Heathrow for a few days because of bad weathers on the other (my side) of the pond. the airport looked like Woodstock in the 60s, empty booze bottles everywhere, people sleepin' everywhere, it was surreal.

The bridge is still down at Tadcaster, so there was a detour both ways. Very smelly man at the front of the bus coming back. Apart from that it was pretty uneventful ;) :D

Thanks for the data, Jack. Congrats on your splendiferous new rope knife!

Thanks GT

Great-looking Barlow

Thank you :)
