What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jake
That just looks like all kinds of great. post any catchs!

What's the knife Jake? It looks like a SAK with an acorn shield.

Unfortunately this is the first weekend we've been able to get on the ice so we've fished a couple spots that we've never been before. No catches to brag about yet! The knife is just a regular black SAK Pioneer. The shield is getting distorted by the glare.

Jack and Ron

Thank you gents for the compliment

Ron

I have been ogling your knives as of late and as Joni Mitchell says....I could drink a Case of you ( them ):D

re-profiled to 15 degrees and polished some shine back in it.

Thanks, y'all.

I will try to provide a detailed write-up in the/a Storage thread sometime soon.

Can't wait to see the write up Sarah, 3 beauties including the Arctic 25

We haven't gotten much snow here but I find that micarta is one of the best carry materials for cold temperatures.

Very, very, very, nice Sarah and quite the library I might add.

Thanks, ED!

I believe I do the storage justice (more to come soon, in a Storage thread).

The library is, of course, a treasure trove, one that I am deeply grateful for and to which I hope to [continue to] do justice as time goes ever forward.

I'm pretty tickled with my new Gerstner (International) Mini-Me:

With today's carry, a GEC #83 Tascosa in purple sage, a #25 sheepsfoot jack in blue:

~ P. - you are certainly a lady who has her priorities in fine order ! That is a beautiful chest - is it cherry ? I think I might know where you got that beautiful Tascosa. Does the new chest give you more room for more knives, that is the question !??:D

I don't know how you find them, Rob, but that is one beautiful knife. Blade, bone and bowtie in a classic Schrade, what more could one ask for?

Looks like you got a little snow. :D We were lucky here in central Ohio and only got a dusting.

I finally got Photobucket to cooperate today - I've been a day behind in photos this week. Bringing things up to date now.

Yesterday's carry, (of course the Presidential still claims the EDC position).

Thank you Dean - pretty hot soup there ! ;):D

What a great looking knife! Beautiful!

Thank you Mitch. :)

This Case Sowbelly in CV and chestnut bone.

Nice looking Sowbelly Frank !:)

Northfield #73 in Antique Peach Seed (Bone):

A beauty ! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

Primble - That old Schrade Cut Co is a dandy my friend! I heard that it was quite nasty in your area with all that snow.:eek:

I have been in a 1970's Case totin' routine this week. ;) Today is no different with this 1973 Jack, 6231 1/2. The bone on this one is not as red as some of the other more expensive models of the time.
But the color and definitely the jigging is not bad in it's own right!:D

Thank you Ron - I am enjoying the old Case show ............. and inspired ! ;):D

I decided to add a Canoe too, seemed appropriate! ;) :D

The bridge is still down at Tadcaster, so there was a detour both ways. Very smelly man at the front of the bus coming back. Apart from that it was pretty uneventful ;) :D

Beautiful knife Mr P, looks like you've been hard at work there!

Snap! :D

Thank you Mr. Jack - the canoe is very appropriate, I'd say !:D:D:D:D:D:D

Very nice picture of a very nice knife Tim !:thumbup::)

Been a long time since I carried this TC.

Beautiful Tom ! :thumbup::thumbup::)

Tsar, thanks for your kind offer, but I hope I have enough "practice blades" that I can "hone my sharpening skills." ;)
Your Boker/Pal pair are top-notch!
This hignokami is always on my desk at work.
And I've carried this Sodbuster Jr every day since I won it in a BigBiscuit GAW a year ago to remind me to pray for his health, his family, his medical team, etc. Bob, you're an inspiration to me, and probably many others here on The Porch!

Love those jigged bone soddie juniors.

Arrived today - Thanks for turning me on to these Derek...LT Wright Patriot! (with a Coyote due tomorrow!)

Some fantastic wood grain on that mighty little Patriot, very nice!

It's a good weekend for a scout:
For my smaller selection, this old Case. I've used brand new X-acto knives that didn't come as thin and sharp as these blades. About 80 years old, solid snap, no wobble. We should all be so lucky. :D

Just don't go doing any armchair surgery with those wicked little blades. :p

Schrade Cut. Co. (circa 1917-1946) Model 2093 Jack Knife, steel bolsters, steel lined, 3 & 5/8ths inches closed:

Stunning bone, and that master spear looks untouched except for that honest and distinguished patina.:thumbup:

Queen #64 Canoe

Some of the canoes in this thread recently have been outstanding, including this one!

Sharp fans 2008 club knife number 348. The first time its ever been in my pocket since I ordered it.

Like I said, simply outstanding canoes!:eek::D

I have had this Spanish Salamandra slipjoint and a little DIY fixed blade, today.

Quite a useful little "custom", is it your work? Very nice Salamandra, too.

Today was a little hindered by the ol' bum knee, plus the sun really refused to make an appearance, but I managed to get outside for a little bit with the day's carry - Mac and the green CFK were joined today by a Cutsure sawcut Barlow. Short of some information in the "Old Knives" thread, the only real details I can find about the knife are that it was made no later than 1962 and likely by Camillus for Kruse & Bahlmann Hardware of Cincinnati. It's built solid, has two tiny gaps midway down the backspring that do not generally detract from the look and feel of the knife, and I generally don't see a whole lot of Cutsure-branded knives (this is the first Barlow I've ever found).
