I am carrying this new Northfield White Owl in cocobolo. Love it!
New here, but really enjoying The Porch. I've quickly fallen down the rabbit hole. My second GEC, and two more are in the mail. My days are organized around getting to the mailbox before my wife does....

Great looking 65 deskil, I have one on the way and I have recently had a growing appreciation for GEC acrylics.
I hope you dig your way out soon, TB!Well, I'm still buried under a mountain of work. Here are the photos I've taken as I continue to fall further and further behind the thread and all your wonderful knives. I will endeavour to catch up on commentary as the week goes on, and of course pick a winner for the EDC challenge GAW, but between making arrangements for my mother's birthday and all the after-hours work stuff this week I haven't had much time to just sit and read, so I look forward to some quiet time hopefully soon.
Stag Saturday:

I'm tired just recapping the weekend!Looking forward to ogling all the wonderful knives everybody posted.

Thanks for the photo comments, Jack.
Thanks GT, interesting to read your thoughts on the Landshark  I like straight-edged blades, and find them good for a variety of cutting tasks, but in the kitchen, I prefer a curved blade. Nice pics of your Kutmaster, shame about the springs
Carrying a couple of old Sheffields today

Cool crate, Jake! And both Jake and Kitten Party have knock-out teardrops IMHO!!
Quality quartet, Harry!
Red Alert!! Fantastic knives in the weeds!
Thats a pretty irresistible knife, Paul!
Looking great, Tim! Thanks for the kind words about my pics, and Im glad to hear that the tooth pain is subsiding.
Haha thankfully the tissue has started healing up fine and the tooth doesn't ache nearly as bad anymore.
Some beautiful shots GT. It actually snowed last night.
A full patina is coming along nicely.

Congrats, Jeff!
I appreciate your can-do attitude about catching up with commentary on this thread after falling several days behind. When I get more than a day or two behind, I limit myself to one comment per page or I just give up and do a reset.Might be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm going to need a whole pot of coffee next time I sit down with this thread in earnest, but I will get caught up.
I know these knives have seen a lot of pocket time lately -- the 'yote is a confirmed triumph in both form and function -- but they complement each other so well it's hard to get away from them.
Having seen what was in the mail today I can promise you at least one of these knives will not be present tomorrow.![]()
You carry that Boker often lately, Jack; looks good! What are some of its charms for you?
Goodness, thats a sublime pen knife, Ernie! Will you please provide some details?
Nice pair, Tom, as usual!
Sorry to hear that the flu still has you down, Ken....
I've been fighting the flu since Tuesday last and still feel pretty crappy.
Anyway, I carried these two today. A Vic Pioneer Pruner and a Case Barlow.

What an interesting photo, Gev,and what cryptic comments! (At least, to an unimaginative guy like me, theyre quite cryptic. ) I dont even know what railroad companies are operative anymore, but is Burlington one, and is your comment actually literal, rather than cryptic?? If so. how did you stage that shot???
- GT
Thanks for the photo comments, Jack.I bought that Kutmaster in a cavernous (in terms of size and lighting) junk store, and knew when I bought it that the blades just fell open. But I thought maybe the back springs were just stuck and some cleaning and lubrication would bring back some snap
; it was too dark in the building to see the cracks in the back springs. Live and learn.
Couple of grand old knives you grabbed. Are they photographed using funky filters?

And a Colonial Forest-Master (my first knife, from about 1960)

Another massively late evening. Beginning to wonder why I'm even taking these photos...Hopefully tomorrow is a normal enough day to pull the GAW winning post out of the hat. For now, I'm missing my slow evenings with this thread.
Today's Tempestuous Tuesday trio helped power me through the long, long afternoon...
