What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Its been a lovely two weeks, with my #85 Spear Micarta. I am extremely pleased with the #85 pattern and its usability.

This weeks choice is a long time waiting. Finally toting a Northwoods Michigan Jack in Denim Micarta. It's a neat example, because the denim is ruff. I was surprised to see this small spec on the bolsters. I will show a pic of it up close, if the more knowledgeable members could advise me as to what I can do or just have acceptance. I don't ever remember it being there. Thanks in advance for any info regarding that spec.

I hope everyone has a great Easter, if that's your thing, and if not, have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Great photo, Dan. Really shows the rustic nature of the knife.

A new city knife made by Bret that came from a friend. Beautiful weave on the CF with some orange liners that pop.

That's a great looking knife, Tim! Of course, the photography shows it well.

Nice photo of a classic, Punches.

My knives for the last two days (Presidential EDC not photographed). First up, yesterday was a Red Soup Bone Barlow.

And today, an old friend, an ebony Huckleberry Boy's knife.

Rainy weather and very busy with renovations for the past 2 days. Great knives everyone.

Tim - that orange really does pop and the weave look is very handsome. Fantastic knife. I really do need to get my hands on one of his knives.

I am carrying a small fixed from HK and a coyote in osage today. Has been my carry for most of the week.

Those Michigan jacks have 1095 liners and bolsters, not nickel silver. So it's just a pepper spot forming. If you want to buff it out you can, otherwise enjoy the ride.

Well, thanks jrawk. I did not know they were 1095 bolsters. Yep, I'm gonna enjoy the ride and thanks, once again.

GT that is a Shatt & Morgan amber worm groove bone EE Whittler.
Yikes! I couldn’t have been much wronger in trying to ID your knife yesterday, Peter!:( No offense intended, and thanks for setting me straight! :o

…I have one of those Soddies in black, and they're a good working knife

Just packing for my trip, more knives than pullovers obviously! ;) The winners are Enzo Elver, Northfield Radio Jack, Tidioute #66, and Northfield US Navy Rope Knife! Think I've got all the bases covered :D
…
I’m not sure I'll get a chance to post while I'm away, so hope everyone has a good weekend. Here's a pic of Whitby in the sunshine

Jack
…
Yes, my inexpensive yellow Imperial sodbuster seems very solid.
I’d say your knife choices have ALL the bases covered! A wise man (wise guy?) advised me recently to stay away from water with all the knives I was carrying; the picture of Whitby by the sea suggests you could take that advice to heart, too, Jack! ;) Hope you have a memorable trip!

The Beekman and beans look delectable, Gev!

…going with stainless blades today on the hike

Steve, is the knife on the right a Colt black stag model (showing my ignorance/inexperience again, I fear )? Nice pair on an interesting background!

Davison # 1323 for me today

Wow, Jake, 1323 looks like a winning number!!

Two days in a row that I was able to get out of the office for a bit. With any luck, this means I'll get home before the sun goes down tonight. :D

Guess the "trio" trend continues with today's carry:

Thrilling threesome you’ve triangulated there, TB! Hope your work situation eases up soon!

That's a notable copperhead, deskil! How is the Klaas ram's horn?

Fancy Boker, Rachel! How big is that knife?

...
Using the F&F tool to fix that nuclear waste container? It's in a bit of a worrying state  :D.
Compelling pic, Dan! I was trying to figure out what that door was, but I'd have never guessed it without sturzi's help. :D

...
But today is the turn of the Calvin Robinson for sure...

It is a wonderful gentac folder. The pull is light, the blade and edge ground real sharp..........beautifully done jigged brown micarta and such a pleasure to roll around in the hand

Superb knife, Chui! The jigged micarta covers are sensational!

a little pile side love

Extremely classy!

On this Good Friday, this good knife...

Regards, Will
Interesting shot, Will, but I have no idea at what I'm looking! Some kind of Damascus blade?

…A little ALOX today, I am calling this my St. Louis Blues pair as it nearly matches our local NHL franchise colors. Happy Friday All!

Nice pair, Tom! You could do a "theme week" where your daily double represents the colors of sports teams. ;)

Striking knife, Gev! For some reason, it reminded me of the old song "The Girl From Ipanema", even though the knife probably isn't tall or tan or young (it is lovely, though;)):rolleyes:

Congrats on another splendid Dowell, Tim!

…This purple toothpick was my first GEC, in 2009. It was an "EDC" (factory blem) sale, due to the rough spot on the bone, but it never bothered me (and it smoothed out nicely over time, so I can barely feel it any more without looking).

I've never considered purple one of my favorite colors, but that purple toothpick is a looker!!

I think I've already posted pics of all the knives I have in this week's rotation, except for the knives I carry EVERY week, and show every week, too:rolleyes:

A Vic Electrician and a Case Peanut

A Case Sodbuster Jr and a JJ Martinez Spanish sodbuster (the Martinez is actually in the kitchen, not in a pocket, this week)

My 18 in Natural Stag arrived today and went straight into my pocket ( after pictures ) along with my 73 . My 77 was on kitchen duty during pictures. Was afraid that a knife as small as the 18 would not be available with some Deep Stag . Did not do too bad IMO. Who ever did the finish on this little 18 must love their job. It is a little jewel.

Dan - That is a super photo of that 71 my friend!

Gev - A timeless pair you have there today my friend!

Tim - A super nice Dowell there!

Dean - 2 nice 15's you have had the last couple of days!

Wilsonhome - That HK is a beautiful knife. What pattern is that, if I may ask?

Brett - It will be here before we know it! Good luck with that ornament my friend.:D

I started out this morning with my 77 Red Saw Cut Clip Barlow in my pocket.:) I literally within the last couple of hours have added a new friend to join it.
Pam and I are visiting our daughter for the weekend. I made a stop this afternoon at one of the local establishments that sell things with triggers and blades. I looked down in one of the cases and I immediately saw something that reminded me of our friend Gary and his daughter that lives in Spain. I could not resist this Aitor Castor Grande with Bubinga Wood handles. This is the 1st time I have had one of these in hand. I will say that is a well made, smooth functioning folder with some of the most beautiful wood handles that I own. :D
I will also add that "This ain't no little knife!":eek::D

Fancy Boker, Rachel! How big is that knife?

It's just 3 3/8 in.

I never think to mention it, but I always have a mini-champ on my keys. The only problem with it is I spend minutes opening and closing the wrong tool before I find the blade I want. :D

Brett - love the Puukko!

GT - I like the scrimshaw feather...

Ron - Tell Pam I said hello!

Harry - Excellent stag as always sir 👍

Tim - back to the coaster I see HAHA

For me today and for stag Saturday, fresh out of the mail...polished stag sabre grind 85.

Jake - I just did and back at you she says!:) Another great looking 85. You have scored some nice ones on this run. I sort of wish I would have reserved one of the flat grind singles in the polished stag. Oh well! Have a great weekend.:D

Tim: that end shot is terrific, shows the the scale grain real well and the liners do the whole knife justice.

GT: You got it, Colt in stag sowbelly frame. I like to use it as my main whittler. Those are old bed springs that are along my desert hike. Find lots of old cans, bottles, car parts mixed in with the cacti. Along with animal bones...

These two today for the river walk...
