What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wow, that is a gem, Ron; looks like a ruby, maybe? ;):cool:
I forgot to wish you a Happy BF Anniversary yesterday, Ron; sorry!:(
Better late than never! Thanks for all your contributions to The Porch over the past 2 years!:cool:
If you hadn't mentioned once that we joined about the same time, I'd have thought you were an old veteran here when I came on the scene, but you're actually few days newer than me!

- GT

Gary - Thank you my friend. This Gem is one of three I was able to catch on the exchange last week. All are superb patterns and since they are previously loved, I won't have a second thought about dropping them in my pocket. Thank you for the Anniversary nod from yesterday. I didn't get time to post yesterday so I actually forgot. This is where I come to relax. I have been blessed to make so many wonderful friends here on The Porch.;)

A modern classic. We should re-do this forum knife for 2017

Man I like that knife. Simple and sophisticated.

Carried my 25 again today

Sorry for the late reply but thank you Dean and GT for the comments.

Spent the last three days away with the wife for her birthday in a little paradise of our own.
Ultralight Bushcrater and SAK farmer always on me.

Knife and a critter! This little Anvil Barlow was a gift from a fellow forum member. I quite like it.

Thank you my friends. I have missed everyone. The fishing has been terrific all season. The good part is I have purchased zero new knives and sold none. The bad part is I have bought more fishing tackle that I did not really need. :o:D

...

Beauties Mr. Jack !! :thumbup::thumbup::)

LOL! Inevitable! :D Thanks for the report Mr P, glad to hear you've had some tight lines :)

Thank you my friend

Nice Barrett

Smashing! :)

Carrying these two today :)

Yes, great #25 btb01. The spearpoint really does befit this frame.

As it happens, if selected my Northfield #25 in Ebony for this, Wooden Wednesday.

Have a good day folks.

Oh man! I had just spent ages typing out individual replies to those who commented on my boker and to those who's pictures I thought should get special merit - I covered four pages and then skadooshed the whole lot! Gutted.

Och well, from what I remember:

@GT - I find it odd that GEC is the only maker in my congress collection to put the main blades on the right hand pivot, how come nobody else does? As for opening knives, and after a bit of research, I think I'm more inclined to use the thumbnail of whichever hand is at the pivot end of the knife I'm opening when it comes out of my pocket.

@ fuzzylogic - great choice. I'm a #25 enthusiast and have the same model myself, it's a beauty, and there aren't many of them :)

@ travman - awesome #25, so glad that you finally snagged one (I felt slightly guilty when I nipped in just ahead of you on the exchange) and very glad that it's seeing pocket time. :D

@ barrett - another great #25, I missed those ebony spears, I'll need to find me one. :)

@ scruffuk - Thom, in your post before last, what was the swayback you had? Also, love that watchpocket barlow

I have a pair today that I've carried together quite often. They go very well together :)

Happy Wooden Wednesday all!

- Paul

Edit to add: Jack, I love that gnarly old tree in your barlow picture!

Ouch! Yeah, happens to me all the time too :grumpy:

That's a useful-looking combo Paul

Thanks my friend, it's an old 'un for sure

Much appreciated kindness, Barrett! That 25 has an understated beauty! Sweet:cool:

You inspired me, with that fine example and pic, to go with my 15 that hasn't seen the pocket time it deserves lately.

OCD downright sucks sometimes.

I have my everpresent peanut. I also have my favorite pattern, my Case Tribal Spear. To top that off, I have my Case Lannys Clip. Let's toss another Case Bose in there, my coffin jack. Oh wait, we need some diversity, lets toss in my Tuna Valley scout. Oh, wait, here's my Wiseman barlow. My LaRock dogleg jack and LC are going to get a spa treatment. But wait, what about my Victorinox black alox Pioneer (need that up on the beach, fishing etc). Oh yeah, my Schatt and Morgan heritage stockman. To top it all off, my Queen zebrawood Mountain Man slipjoint found it's way to my truck.

Not all at once mind you. I'm going on vacation this Saturday. The dog will have to take what's left of the seat, next to the giant pile of knives.

Yes, I'm kidding, he's going to be holding onto some of the knives for me...
