This arrived yesterday. I've had a BNIB one for my scout collection, but never one to actually use, so this is a fun treat. It's a great departure from the usual equal end scout pattern. Best of all, no tool can be closed on the bail, so no accidentally nicked blades!!! As utterly complicated as this 6-blade pattern was to produce, Camillus did a remarkable job with the fit.

Thanks, Alan. I didnt really give enough thought to what knives to take with me for two weeks away from home, but I just grabbed a couple of handfuls and figured that would have to do!GT, I have trouble deciding day to day, I can't contemplate weeks at a time. Enjoy your vacation.
Alan
Thanks for the James Bond elaboration and the vacation well-wishes; my wife and daughter nap often while were away, so I can probably check in on The Porch every now and then. Thanks, GT! But don't be consternated! Here's the deal. When I see the "A New Day" logo, I start humming "it's a new day" to the tune of one of the Bond movie's theme songs. I think it is one of those brain cell overflows that is unexplainable.
Of all your knives, I like seeing the perfect equation (I believe that's what you said) knife the most. It also looks like it has the same setup as my favorite stockman frame (the Uncle Henry 897UH) - except for the sheepfoot nail nick being on the opposite side.
Have a great vacation. We'll keep a light on for you!
Congrats on another new-to-you knife, Ron; I really like the jigging on that knife!!Well I am late as usual. There has been a lot of beauties posted up today. Today, I have been totin' the 3rd new to me knife this week. This 48 Improved Trapper came to me from the exchange.

Thanks, Jack. For the past 18 months or so, Ive had problems with falling asleep at my desk in the middle of working on something, so I was dreading a 5-hour drive to our vacation spot. But serious caffeine consumption before and during the trip, as well as continual eating while driving, made for a safe trip (and a wide-eyed nightThanks GT, I was mainly in the house the other day, so thought the single Lambsfoot would suffice:thumbup:
Nice new Whittler my friend, looking forward to seeing your vacation selection, hope you have a wonderful time
Outstanding Ohta, Gary! :thumbup:Put this 3" Ohta drop point in my pocket today.

Superb quartet, jrawk! That's a full house.
Im experiencing double vision!! Nice!
That Peanut is petite and pretty, Ben, but also powerful!Like every day for the past few months, the little Peanut has been along went along for the ride today. I took a quick hike, and started a small fire just to keep up my skills. Many a feather stick was made, an apple peeled, and a splinter removed. I have grown quite fond of this little guy, and I don't see putting her in the sock drawer any time soon.

Those are splendid sidekicks, Jack ; I hope you dont use them for trade bait at boot sales!
Very cheerful, Alan, and as long as were remembering Donovan, you could call that a pair of Sunshine Supermen, too!
Nice old barlows, Shawn!
I've got a pair of red Barlows in my pocket for morning coffee. One (or both) will be replaced for grilling time this afternoon, though.

Same to you Jack and Thom!! I wasnt even aware there was a Yorkshire Day, and have no idea how to celebrate. Im currently in Michigans Upper Peninsula, and a famous regional food here is the pasty. I think its usually attributed to Cornwall, but is there a Yorkshire pasty of any kind? Id be MORE than willing to partake of one or more pasties to celebrate Yorkshire Day!
Oh, man, magnificent stag!!
Another fine pair, Tom!
That is a GREAT-looking knife, Paul, and your testimonial is very persuasive!! :thumbup:I own MANY traditional knives and mean many. This however is the biggest sleeper I've ever owned. I never knew much about the farmers jack until Lyle's thread. Then the release of Lyle and Charlies #38's was my intro to this amazing knife/pattern:thumbup:
It just works and works so well!!! So comfortable in hand that it has to experienced to be appreciate.
