What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It's a deep bottom on that basket, the picture doesn't catch it nicely. I had to climb uphill like a mountain goat and then I had a hard time getting back to the car again. :D

I've totally forgotten it's Halloween next weekend. It's not a big deal here, we have two other national holidays on the 31st and 1st. That jack of yours looks very useful, r8shell. Do the scales glow in the dark?

Yes, they do glow in the dark. (handy for an electrician's knife, I suppose)
We can't carve the jack-o-lanterns too early in Texas or they rot before Hallowween. It was 93ºF last weekend.

Just got this on Monday from Old Hundred Collectibles, Beautiful knife! Works great, has been in my pocket ever since.

That's a lot even for our summer! Here it's about 53 F during the day and 37 after dark.

Hey Gev,

The Gunfighter trimmed some branches, whittled a few sticks, and peeled/sliced a apple... it's a great all-around. I can't wait to head to the mountains or desert with it. More pics, GEC #77 for scale:

My daughter fell asleep in the car, 5 minutes from home. So now I'm sitting in the car in the driveway while she naps in the backseat, watching the fall leaves fly from the trees on a windy day and admiring this little gem.

Sweet Gunfighter, Aias, looks like a great knife. Nice looking grinds, more so if they are even, which I suspect they are.

Lovely knife and backdrop you've got there. I'd be happy to sit a spell and admire the view, too.

I believe so--I'll have to post pics of both side. I've been looking at Humphrey's knives for a while... this is my first, and I'm very, very impressed. Usually when knives are 1/4" thick, they sacrifice cutting/slicing. Not this one.

There's no crying over those Teardrops, Ron! Are they CV?

My two fer today.

Thanks Dean, these are both Tru Cut. They were both gifts from my daughter a couple of years ago. That's a nice pair you are sharing your Saturday with.

Every time my kids see a member of the Daniels family they walk away with a new knife. They call it their Kiddo Knife Club. They've each gotten those mini-trappers, a full sized trapper, and a fixed blade. My son also has a peanut and my daughter a doctor's knife. I'm amazed at how many knives Queen has gifted my children. It's the highlight of each knife show we go to. They're even in the Queen catalog this year in a picture they took with Courtney Daniels after she gave them the peanut and doctor's knife.

I was told that at this last knife show there was a fellow who spent some time in the Queen booth with his son, but decided not to buy anything. Before he left he went back into the Queen booth and asked to buy a knife. Ken asked him why he changed his mind, and he told Ken that after he had left the booth he realized that his son had a knife. When he asked his son about it, the son said that the man in the Queen booth had given him the knife. He came back to buy a knife to show his appreciation. Ken refused to sell the man a knife, saying that he hadn't given the boy the knife as a marketing gimmick. He just enjoys gifting knives to kids.

I am constantly amazed at the knife community and it's generosity.
Cool story, Cory! I'm glad you can get your kids involved with your hobby.

I hope you pretzel "pushers" are happy. One of my Saturday chores is to get groceries for the week, and, even though they weren't on my list, I came home with 5 different flavors of Snyder's Pretzel Pieces! At least they were on sale!

Once I start carrying my #72 I always find it difficult to stop....

It's always great to see that fiery 72, Erik!
