What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Old Engineer that is a great looking 77. I didn't realize they made a single clip blade with a nickel silver bolster... unless I'm seeing that wrong. Does it have brass liners?

Thank you very much for the kind words JITDC !!!!
You are not seeing it wrong !!! They were made in early 2015 . The liners and pins are steel. I believe that most , if not all , of the 77 Barlows have Steel liners. I would have to go back through the 77 Barlows history to know for sure. This Old Red Bone was my first . It is also the one that I carry almost daily.
I used to prefer brass liners , but now I prefer the steel.

Added after looking at the 77 Barlow Impressions thread : Not all 77 Barlows had steel liners

That M.Z. Toledo has great lines!

I went with the Pioneer today.

Does the blade have an etch on it? Without a shield, the only original Northfield it could be is a Genuine Stag, and should be so etched on the blade.

Jeff, thanks for the info. A previous owner has removed the etch. But it has serial #036 on the bolster. I would vote Natural Stag. :)

Man, that is one FINE knife, Ron; I always admire those stag 73s, and yours has especially distinctive stag!

No, that's just an odd reflection. The tip is safely stowed.

I'm always happy to see that Zamorano from Toledo and think back on the story you told of your adventures in Spain.

No pix as it's night here and the P.Bucket has been misbehaving a lot lately anyway....

But a migratory White Owl in Coco has just flown in from the Isles of Scotland... Thanks to Paul:cool:

If the Owl is hoping for better weather he's grossly mistaken:eek::D:D He will have other Owls to help him through it.

Regards, Will

It was a pleasure Will, I'm looking forward to seeing the repair work you did on the bolsters - and I'm glad I'm not the only person who can't abide a bail

Nice stag, Jack. Any idea how old that one is?

Thanks Dean, I think it may well be late 19th C

Very nice Gev

A good-looking couple Ron :)

Thanks, Jack; not sure how I ended up with so many Sodbuster Jr type knives! :o
Your stag senator is superb!

Thanks GT, the Sodbuster is certainly a great pattern, good to see your Zamorano again

Double IXL for me today

I thought for sure that PhotoSuckIt would be fixed by this morning, but it's not... Trying out Imgur instead, the interface is not nearly as nice but at least it WORKS!

Carrying a Trestle Pine Superior in with ash covers, also carried the same knife yesterday.

I needed to change things up today, so I pulled out my Queen Scout in stag bone. I'm very pleased with how thinly ground they made the D2 spear blade.
