What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It's a good lookin' Jack Clay, give it a chance, it's a modern take on one of the earliest patterns and it's still popular for a reason. Someday I'll get me one, doubtful if it'll be soon :( but at least I have a few old ones from other older companies. Like this one for example, it's about 80 years old rode hard and put away wet before I got it but with a little TLC and maintenance it'll last at least another 80. :)

Get a slip sheath for it and carry it around awhile, I bet you fall in love with it and if you don't it'll be lightly carried and an easy resell. I really believe if you carry it you'll keep carryin' it. :)

THAT^^^ is a beauty!
Thank you for the advice, I know you are right. It's that timeless pattern that speaks to me.
Maybe if they ever do a run of these or another run of #15's with spear main and sheepsfoot secondary someday I'll try again but this one just won't unseat the Buck.

'Course I could change my mind again...I do love the looks and feel of this thing!

Blimey, it's very rare that this thread gets knocked off page 1! Better do something about that ;)

As per Greg's suggestion in the Lambsfoot thread - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ans-of-The-Lambsfoot!?p=16655176#post16655176

For the inaugural Love for the Lambsfoot Day, I'm carrying this William Rodgers, gifted to me by Charlie :) Have a great Lambsfoot Day everyone, and a great week ;)

Not what I started the day off with but switched out as soon as I got home. ;)

Thanks Jack. For those that havent tried this knife you all are missing out. I really enjoy the pruner handle as it fills the palm well and the blade just works. Im going to get an ebony or rosewood sooner or later.

That's some nice buffalo covers! I have the ebony, and agree with you 100% on the palm filling comment - this is one of the few knives that actually screams "USE ME". :-)

Thanks GT, but especially for taking the time to comment on all of fine knives posted by the folks here on the porch.
Thanks, Alan. I enjoy seeing what everyone has, and wish I had more time to express my admiration for all the fine knives that show up here!:D

... Carrying my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot today, along with my Arthur Wright Lambsfoot in oxhorn :)
...
Talk about vicarious enjoyment! :p That oxhorn of yours, Jack, is the wind beneath my wings! :D:thumbup:

I haven't posted here in months. I hope to make this thread a daily deal like it used to be.
I think these two should cover anything the day throws at me.

Welcome back, Erik! Sweet 2016 BF knife, but I'll know you're REALLY back when I see your Presidential now and then! ;)

Thank you for the comments, GT! I never tire of seeing that SBJr. :)

Old school.

Thanks, Dean. Your Tip Top Barlow is hoary but handsome!

Ken, that is a very cool pattern on your 79. Mine is with me again today.

Oh, man!!! :eek::thumbup::thumbup:

Excellent pairing, Gary. Thanks for the kind words Alan and Gary, that makes three severe trauma's to my hands in the last year and a half. This was a bad one, as were the other two, less than happy about it, I am. Have a great Sunday everyone.
Get well soon, Kris! You gotta be more careful out there!!

That's a splendid specimen, Jack!

On Love for the Lambsfoot Day I'm carrying the one that got me hooked on the pattern.

Amazing knife, Greg! I know it's an older photo, but I like the allusion to last night's large lunar appearance!

Peer pressure.

Glad you succumbed, Rachel! :D

Not what I started the day off with but switched out as soon as I got home. ;)

Heavenly handle, Brett!!

Not hunting today, just careful.

Sunlight in the garden.

As the Temptations once sang, you'd have sunshine even on a cloudy day with Your Knife, Dean!!:thumbup:

Some of my knives for the week appear below.

Thank you for your comments, Gary. I may just start calling my Tip Top "Hoary," which sounds like an accented Harry to my ears.

The sunshine shot is the first bright sunlight photo I have successfully done of my Schrade.

You've quoted song lyrics for my knives a couple of times in the last few days. And I hear the songs in my head when I read them. Luckily, they finally go away after a few hours. :) We must have both listened to Casey Kasem too much.

I like that checkered Canoe; how many do Canoe knives do you have?!

I admire your Canoe GT !! I really like the Gunstock Checkering that Case is now offering on some of their patterns also.

Harry

Harry, those are a couple of nice old knives. I bet they have a lot of stories to tell.

Thank you very much John !!
I am very happy to have both of them in my collection since Pal Cutlery was the company that bought out Remington and were not in production for very long and they were very well made knives.

:D Seeing yours and one of Jack's on the same day was what gave me the final nudge I needed to get my own.

That really is fantastic Greg

Thank you my friend. :)

I commented on your Lambsfoot of the day in the Guardians thread, but just realized that it's the one with the stamped, not etched, REAL LAMB FOOT on the blade. I think that's the only one I've ever seen like that.

From that lovely patina I can tell you've been enjoying using it.

Interesting background, too. A little light computer systems design reading? ;)

14 months of pretty consistent carry, and she's still going strong!

That's a nice—and very useful—looking knife. I can see why it keeps finding its way back into your pocket every day.

Sunlight in the garden.

Such a lovely knife and picture! Are you sure it's the sun that is casting the light and not the Barlow itself?

I really like the handles on your Lambsfoot, Brett. It's like there's a light show constantly on display.

Amazing knife, Greg! I know it's an older photo, but I like the allusion to last night's large lunar appearance!

Thanks, GT. That moon was amazing, wasn't it?!

I like your canoe of the week. I don't think I've seen handles quite like that before. Very nice.
