What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A lovely Shapleigh, indeed.

Life is too short not to carry a fine old knife, so after a careful cleaning my ivory Rodgers is in my pocket. (the 2016 Forum Knife is with me, too, in case any tough jobs come up)

the old Sheffield stuff always gets me,have you any pictures of this one with the other blade in the open position sir?

It's Ma'am :) , and I agree, the old Sheffield knives are fine. I don't run across them often down here, Solingen makers were more popular with the old folks in Central Texas.

Here's a picture of the pen blade, with its "I Cut My Way" slogan. The tip is chipped off, and I'm not sure about fixing it or leaving it be. I hate to remove metal on this one. The nail nick was cut too shallow, so it's tricky to open anyway. Single spring, so it's nice and slim in the pocket:

My apologies Ma'am ,there wouldn't be as many girls into knives where I'm from, that's a very nice knife,I wouldn't touch it!

I am carrying this beauty, just to make some pictures.
It's a knife I bought for my father's birthday next week, I guess he will like it a lot..;)

Now that is how to show the love to your father in style!!! Let us know how he likes it :D

And some super fine old Sheffield cutlery, Rachel!! Great job on the spa treatment :D and thank you very much :D

Very nice indeed Gevo :)

Well done my friend !!!

Harry

Thank you kindly, my friends. Sorry for the delay...I was earning brownie points with he who sees all by insulating Romeo's ( the yet un-adopted tom cats) home. 1/2" foam core liner and it should be toasty for the old boy when the cold front gets into full swing tonight. It was great fun working out the details and fluffing the pillows :p

No apologies necessary, Sir. We ladies are a minority around here. :D

I like to file broken blades into usable shape, but that's generally on more commonly found knives. I'll leave this one alone.

Just got this current production Schrade belt knife. Price considered, I'm very happy with it. It did seem to cut a little nick in the sheath the first time i took it out. It doesnt seem to be getting worse though, hope that doesnt turn into a problem down the road. Overall very nice balance and feel. Seemed to respond just okay to ceramic sharpening rods. Id be curious to know if anyone has any long time experiance sharpening a curent production Schrade. Im pretty sure all the Old Timers and Uncle Henrys in current production use the same steel.

Hmmm... pictures aren't loading. Lemme have a crack at it.

Edit: never mind, you got it.

Ya know, I never have had a gunstock, but they look cool. Comfy in hand?

Yeah, that 66 Moose is the right kind of moose. Stout, but still easy on the pocket at 3.5" closed.

Actually it is quite comfy. I really like the pattern. I may have to pick up another moose... :)

Mother, May I!!:thumbup: Sensational Barlow, Ron!!

This week, in addition to knives I posted earlier, I've also been carrying the following.
A Böker USA electrician (thanks, Mark):

You've inspired this madness where I spent a week searching for the perfect blue handled knife and didn't find exactly what I wanted. So now, I'm beseeching the makers...

My favorite color isn't even blue. It's red. And I think that some of the green burl that I've seen is actually more striking than the blue burls. But no. Has to be blue burl. Has to be 3/32" or thinner blade stock. Has to be full flat or convex grind, no scandi, no saber, none of it. And when it happens, we will rejoice in glory.

Uhm... you're welcome? :D

[I love your last line. :)]

I carried the middle knife (Esquire) all day, and all three of these outside at the end of the afternoon to catch the last of the light:
