What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That's some terrific looking ragg bone...

Case/Bose Lanny's Clip along with Schrade+

Thanks, that's a nice pair of knives there. They Lannys is especially nice, I like the coloration in the bone.

Dean and P&G, great Barlows:thumbup:

GEC's #55 may be my favorite pattern. I'll carry my new spear point version tomorrow.

The stainless #15 Tortoise Shell, popular and desirable, and the under appreciated #54 Brimstone Bone. If you like a big, stout clip point, the 54 is something to check out.

Really beautiful colours in that shot - both the background and the knives.

Thanks MJ. I usually take most of my photos indoors so it's nice to be able to get out in the natural light with a nice background. I appreciate the comments.

Yes Chin, I think that was the pattern for men of that generation. Neither of my grandfathers, or great uncles ever talked of their war service, nor did their fathers before them. Makes it hard to piece together family history.

I think it's still the pattern with veterans, at least as regards those of us who weren't there.

Alan, I think you jinxed me! I woke up, and it's 38* with my car covered in frost! Needless to say, I was unprepared for this.

Good to see you Paul, was just thinking about you and the missus

Thanks Jack, Claire is much better thanks, four weeks to go now

Howdy! Is that frost?

Yes indeed, it's getting cold and dark up here in the Western Isles :)

Paul
Very good to see you and such a grand return with that photo!

Thanks Gev, as you are a master of still life photography I'm flattered you think so :D

Today I have a present from our man in Finland, sitting astride my frozen peat stack.

Today I'm carrying a recent Exchange purchase (thanks Dantone). This is a really nice knife, but really hard to photograph!

Thanks Jack, in a few hours they'd be covered in snow. What is it about the word 'extraction' that hurts. Ouch! Feel better.

Thanks Alan :)

Jack, wonderful Lambsfoot, love those covers:cool:

Thanks Paul, two beautiful knives, which look absolutely wonderful together. Another great sunset too

Thank you, Jack. I hope your extraction goes off without a hitch and that you have a great time with Stan!

Thanks pal, it has been lashing it down with rain here all day, but it was great to spend a few hhours with Stan, before I went to get my tooth pulled. I've just got in out of the cold and opened a bottle of wine! ;)

I think it's still the pattern with veterans, at least as regards those of us who weren't there.

You're right Jer, it is

Thanks Jack, Claire is much better thanks, four weeks to go now

That's good news Paul, and a lovely gift

Just a gorgeous knife, Dean! Great acquisition :thumbup:

Paul
Thank you :D Stay warm!

Jack
Have a good evening and I am sorry about your tooth...I know all to well how you must be feeling and there are no proper emoticons for it.

Thanks GT, the Scout was a gift from SP :) Yes, the style is very similar isn't it? :) We had 'Janet and John' and Ladybird bpoks here. Learning to read is such a magical thing, I remember one minute I was pondering over the letters, and the next thing I was flying through Huckleberry Finn, and any other book or comic I could get my hands on! :D Great pics of your Forest Master my friend
I don't remember learning to read. My Dad claims I learned from the backs of boxes of breakfast cereal before I started school. I think that attending a "two-room schoolhouse" with grades 1-4 in one room and grades 5-8 in the other made learning easy for me, since I was able to eavesdrop on what the big kids were learning before I had to learn it myself.

Hi everyone, It's been a while :)

"Cool" photo of a hot knife, Paul!

Thank you. From ivory to ebony today.

or maybe cocobolo, I don't know. Close enough. :D

Nothing to excuse, GT. I don't mind seeing a little snow and beer, not to mention a well-loved camper.
...
Wow, that Robeson is literally an old-timer!
Thanks, Rachel; I don't mind a little snow, but that's not what Mother Nature typically has in mind for the next 4 months!

...
And another day with the Shapleigh

"Venus on the Half-Shell" is a classic beauty, but Shapleigh on the half-shell is also mighty fetching, Gev!

... That's a great photo/knife , I think the snow and the beer make it better!

Clay
Thanks, Clay. :)

A better pic of today's carry. The previous pic I posted didn't come out so well.

Great photo, Bob!

...

I'm carrying these today. TC Barlow and a Case Seahorse Whittler.

...
Thanks, Gary! Great photo of your venerable friend!
...
I carried my Clauss Barlow today. Photo is from Friday when it was 40 degrees warmer outside!

Thanks, Dean. :) Is that magnificent Clauss considered a Christmas Barlow? ;)

...
We've finally gotten some fallen leaves of our own, but the grass is still as green as ever. Lifting some caps on this lovely Sunday with my Glennbad modified Camco that I picked up from Daniel (Tilley Knife).

Superb photo of a fascinating knife, Shawn!

Heading over to 'Mucky Sheffield' early in the morning with a forecast of heavy rain and a tooth extraction. Going to have this IXL in my pocket, and lunch with Stan Shaw, to brighten my day a little hopefully

Glad to read (in a later post) that your Sheffield trip went as well as can be expected with rain arriving and teeth departing! :( Fine knife with which to travel.

Little ragg bone Utica Kutmaster barlow
