Thanks GT. The MAM is $10 of ultimate practicality. I will use that as my beach knife.
Sounds like a good plan, Alan. (I don't think I'll need a beach knife for about 7 months :()

Thanks, Gary, and I agree. The idea and execution of the Scratted Ancient TC were superb. Regarding your Vics, I think either of those would warrant daily carry.
Thanks, Dean. :)

Thank you kindly, Gary. i hope we see some more specimens!! The brass dog knife is so cool and in great condition. The vultures are roosting at the top of....see November 27th at the end of this thread for the...rest of the story :D

Thanks for the link to your Sunday photos thread, Gev; lots of beautiful pics there! I grew up on a small dairy farm and we had corn cribs, not complexes of steel grain bins with aerial distribution devices!

The dog knife is a $4 Novelty Knife Company product that reminds me of the "genuine" old all metal knives I've seen here. It "holds a place" and tides me over until I can find a "real" brass handled knife. Thanks for the compliment, and here's a pic of the other side:

I just love your dog knife!
As for the gray Buck it is from their " workman " series from the early 90's ( mines 92'). I read a quote from CJ Buck once explaining that the Workman was a marketing tool to get their knives placed in two sections of hardware stores the knife case and the cutting tool isles and allow a Buck presence in the newly arriving at the time Home Improvement stores that didn't have knife displays/sporting goods.
They had completely different packaging and marketing but pure Buck thru and thru

Thanks for the kind words about the Novelty knife, and also for the intriguing info about the Buck Workman marketing.

Some wondrous wood coming out past the Austin City Limits this Wednesday! Thanks, r8shell and Gev!

Green Burl seemed appropriate for Wooden Wednesday.

That green burl is unique and, um, burly!!

I don't often enter this thread cuz it makes me want wayyyyy too many knives like this Boker...
...
:D:D Maybe you have to adjust your "attitude" and, instead of wanting to get all the fabulous knives you can see here, just come to this thread to vicariously enjoy so much more than one person could ever have! ;):D At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Congrats on that sunshiney new knife, Greg!

Thank you Bob, John and Kevin, I appreciate your kind comments. Love the Winchester Kevin, great jig on the covers:cool:

Gary, Thank you as well. I admire the time you take to post on the daily carries of members here and your weekly carries:thumbup:

Two of my favorites of yours. The IXL looks like its staring in an Oliver Twist episode outside of his workhouse :D

Thanks Gev :) You're not far wrong there my friend, that old canal-side cotton mill would have had kids working in it! Unlike most of the others nearby, it hasn't been renovated and turned into a business centre/apartments/etc
