What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've fallen WAY behind in posting my admiration of what you all are totin' this week. :( But a snowy Saturday evening seems like the perfect time to try to catch up at least a little. (May take me a couple of posts, though, given the BF limit on images per post.)

Wright Lambfoot, top, in Horn today.

IMG_4273.jpg
Amazing feathering on both those horn handles, Will!

...
That is a superb pic of your Winchester my friend, and a great-looking knife :) Well done Paul
...
...
Just this IXL for me today :)

Thanks, Jack, for the Winchester comment. And that IXL looks better to me each time you post it; I'm really taken with its jigging!

...
Gary the Whittler is a single spring. It is built on the 38 frame from GEC. Thank you. :) Your Winchester is a beautiful pattern and you have captured it in a great photo!

Today I am totin this 92 Talon in Ebony. :)

31369433811_3e6cb039cd_b_d.jpg
Belated thanks for the Northwoods whittler info, Ron, and for the compliments about my Winchester that I posted MUCH earlier this week. Your ebony Talon is darkly dapper!

Thank you, Gary! Your Winchester Teardrop is a great looking knife (I like that particular knife so much, I bought one)!:thumbup:
...
I have this S&M Heritage jack in my pocket on this bright and sunny day.

Old Timer Barlow today.

Thanks for the kind Winchester words, Dean; I don't think I realized you had one! I DO realize that you have many knives with compelling spearpoint blades, and that Heritage jack is one of them!
I also enjoy seeing the Old Timer Barlow again, along with Prince Albert in a can.

I don't post in this thread too much because, well, I don't have a large collection, so it's apt to be the same all the time. How many pictures of a Sodbuster Jr. in chestnut bone and CV can you look at?

... Case does a fine job on its chestnut bone; I've got two others as well (peanut and swayback jack).
I think I could probably look at a LOT of pics of that knife, since I've carried one just like it EVERY day since January 2015! :D:cool: And I also am taken with Case's other models in chestnut jigged bone and CV: I have a peanut and swayback jack, and a sowbelly stockman.

Nothing new here!

Nope, still the same old breathtaking, eye-popping, heart-stopping knife, Jake!;)

...
Styling with that beauty!! I have so many red Vics but someday I will break down and get an Alox just to see what all the love is about
...
Thanks for your comment on my Winchester, Gev. I think you definitely should try an Alox Vic (but be aware that many of us find them habit-forming ). That photo of your shows a quintet of quintessential pocketknife quality!

New sourdough baguette recipe this week.

That's an attractively curvaceous Orchard Gem, Dschal; I hope you're in charge of bread for The Porch Christmas party! :D

Case today...

These today

Harry
Very desirable duos, Steve & Harry; the walnut Rogers jigged bone examples really captures my fancy!

Totin' Hugo around today.
30650551264_7014668392_b.jpg
Hugo has HUGE appeal, FBC!

I'm feeling a little festive today and luck would have it this beauty arrived just in time for the holidays!

wonder if I could talk Glenbadd into putting green on the pile side...
Clay
That would be really striking, Clay!

Blue bone workhorse on a cold ND day. 3° above but with windchill a balmy -16°

...
And for my Kiwi friend:D

Jf4PXA.jpg
That's a pretty knife, Paul! And I reacted very similar to Harry, thinking that's the color I'd be if exposed to your temps for very long! I'm impressed that you're willing to adapt internationally on your weather updates! ;)

This just feels so good in the hand :)

John, that is a super-deluxe lambsfoot model!

Great to see that popular (at least with me ;)) pair again, Jack!

The jigging on those two bring Joy to the World, JSCHENK!:thumbup:

More to come later!

- GT

That is a great looking trio Scott!

I asked this little fella if he needed some help today, and he replied, "Don't let the little size fool you. I*XL where many have failed." I could only nod my head and smile as I transferred him to my pocket. He made me proud. :)

IMG_20140325_114851_zpsa7efzb0h.jpg

That little fella sure is Purdy; I*XL indeed! :)

It is a balmy 29 degrees F here. Our labordor retriever loves it.
IMG_4581_zpspf6yi8rn.jpg

That is a really good photo, Travman! Now did you have a beer nearby for that knife to service?

Thanks for the kind Winchester words, Dean; I don't think I realized you had one! I DO realize that you have many knives with compelling spearpoint blades, and that Heritage jack is one of them!
I also enjoy seeing the Old Timer Barlow again, along with Prince Albert in a can.

Thank you for your kind comments, Gary. :) Someday, I'll carry that Winchester of mine.

A wee bit Harry:D that was at 10:00am as it had warmed up from it's overnight low of -18°F. A repeat is in order for tonight. Think I'll stay home:thumbup:

I was carrying my #68 I bought from Bob today in anticipation of another I bought from Bob that arrived in today's mail. A 2012 spey matchstrike #73 with ebony covers. Bob had Glenn rehandle the #68 in ebony. These two will stay in my collection forever.

bRjPmB.jpg

That 73 has a blade and pull on it that I had never seen on a 73 before . The 73 was made even before I even knew they existed. Learned something new today and that is a good thing..
The 68 and 73 make a pretty striking matched pair .
Stay safe my friend.

Harry

Thanks Gt for your kind comments !!!! I broke up the Duo today when I gifted the Peanut to a family member . When he saw my 3 Walnuts , his eyes just lit up and I gave him his choice. Replacement though is in motion. Ordered but not shipped yet.

Harry

I just love the match strike pulls!

Thank you, Gev and Emspop, the German Bulldog is a chunk of delightfully solid knifemaking, and the match strike pulls give great purchase. I also like the reverse frost etch. Bling is the thing! :D

Still catching up this week, and I don't remember on what days the posts I quote below occurred. But I'd find some time each day to look through this thread and "multiquote" the knives that caught my eye, and now I'm committed to dealing with the backlog! :o

I always enjoy the opportunity to see pictures of Pete's peerless peanut with the perfect patina!

Something different today - an old Case Stockman given as a Christmas present from my mother about 20 years ago.

Wow! Can't beat a mother's love! That's a gorgeous stag stockman, Atiger! CV or stainless?

Couldn't decide between two new additions today...so I'm carrying both!

88' 303 redbone and a 94' 3 spring flat ground goodness!

The 94' comes real close to everyday perfection for me...post 88' so it's 3 springs and they swapped the Spey and Sheepsfoot and it still sports that great flat grind.

Clay
Both beauties, Clay; congrats! But that jigged redbone is phenomenal! I'm always hoping to run across a Buck canoe with jigged redbone covers.

Canal Street chestnut Barlow.

...
Thank you for your kind comments, Gary. :) Someday, I'll carry that Winchester of mine.
Beguiling Barlow, Dean!
I'd enjoy seeing a shot of your Winchester 2857 someday.

Dreary day here, thought I'd put some sunshine in my pocket ;)

I've shoveled snow 3 times in the past 24 hours, and they're predicting another 7 inches tomorrow, so I certainly appreciate seeing the legendary luminous living oxhorn, Jack!:cool:

I asked this little fella if he needed some help today, and he replied, "Don't let the little size fool you. I*XL where many have failed." I could only nod my head and smile as I transferred him to my pocket. He made me proud. :)

IMG_20140325_114851_zpsa7efzb0h.jpg
Impressive little I*XL, Dee! Good-looking AND intelligent (if somewhat boastful)! :D

Congrats on your newly-won Streamline, rishma!

I hope everyone is having a great Stag Saturday. But, I have been keeping warm with some Case Red Bone today. :D

30715963244_08ff113921_b.jpg
That top red bone is SO remarkable, Ron! I can imagine it would give you a warm glow of admiration and pride of ownership!:cool:

All these sowbelly threads reminded my that I've not carried mine in a spell.
One of my favorites: Case Chestnut Bone and CV.

That's a standout sowbelly, Frank!

Dignified, distinctive dark duo, Paul; they're memorable on several levels!!:thumbup:

Thanks Gt for your kind comments !!!! I broke up the Duo today when I gifted the Peanut to a family member . When he saw my 3 Walnuts , his eyes just lit up and I gave him his choice. Replacement though is in motion. Ordered but not shipped yet.

Harry
Very cool, Harry! I admire your generosity, and I admire your relative's ability to make a choice ; I'd probably be paralyzed trying to make up my mind! :o Congrats on getting a replacement on the way!

A 2 hr hike along the creek bed while it was threatening to snow deserves.....pizza and beer!!!
...
"Paisley take a Bow!"

Looks like an active day, Steve! I did the laundry, got the groceries, rescued my wife from the bathroom when the doorknob fell off in her hand, and shoveled snow, and I thought those activities deserved pizza and beer too! :p

Good dog, Paisley!

I have knives I've carried all week without posting them here until now.
A Rough Rider trapper:

A Marbles "etched damascus" stag bone stockman (thanks, Randy):

Of course, I'm also carrying my literal EDCs: a Vic Minichamp, a scrimshawed Rough Rider small stockman (thanks, r8shell), and a Case SBJr in chestnut jigged bone (thanks, Bob). But regulars see those every week, so I'll forgo posting them here this week.

- GT

Gary, now that was a recap to beat all recaps...lol! Thank you for your kind words and the E.C. is a dandy :thumbup:

GT Thanks GT, Just raised a glass to you, now what's that caplifter used on the Blue Moon?
Steve, it's an old (not sure how old) Colonial "wireframe" jack with a clip and a bottle opener that I got from davek14. Here's another shot of it, prior to cleaning it up a little:

Thanks for the kind words, Gary! I think he's been hanging around those b̶o̶a̶s̶t̶f̶u̶l̶ confident TC's too long. :p

Cool knives from awesome friends.

I had to comment of this magnificence...wow! Love the oak and well...everything about it.
Thanks very much ! 😊
Just pulled it out of the tube this morning and was very impressed with the grain on this beer barrel oak 👍

I had my trusty 77 in pocket all day. Grabbed a brew at the store on the way home and had to grab the BS to pop that top. I just can't bring myself to lift a cap with any other tool now that I have one. Would be sak religious.....
