What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Cchu518 dang wish had some of that on my hike today. Love me some thin slice ham.
Case cooperlock should be in every pocket at one time or another!!

Ulster with me today

So true swayback, I traded my copperlock out regretfully. It reminds me of a Buck 110 that went on a diet. Flat covers, clip point and lots of knife in a compact design!

Mountain Man was in my pocket today. The rest (Anton Wingen jr. and huntsman) were in my bag. I went to a place where we are not allowed to bring any knife. I put the mountain man in the tray along with my belt and bag. When it run into the X-Ray, the federal police was shocked,"THREE pocket knives!". He gave me a ticket. When i took those three from the cloaking room, i gave the ticket to the officer. And said,"Three pocket knives,
please". He said,"THREE pocket knives!". [emoji16]. They were lucky, first i only remember that in my bag was huntsman, forgot about Anton Wingen Jr. Before left home, i took the GEC out of my pocket. And days before i took out Becker 11 and BUSSE HG55 out my bag.

End of the year feels like the end of a marathon for me. Still, I have to comment on my favorite knife, the John White Bowie that Kris posted. It just seems perfect, love it.
Thanks Alan, John was a special kind of blade smith and is missed.

These two today,

Been carrying this most days for the last week or so. Don't see any need to change just yet. :D

-James
After bringing a new car (with giant key) home the key ring had to go on a diet. Removing a Vic Classic and a flash light in exchange for a Night Manager gave nearly the same tools in a package about half the size and I get to play with a new daily carry. Win win! :)

Which model Vic is that in your first post, James? That's a version of the cross logo I don't remember seeing before (but my memory ...).
Congrats on the new car; hope it gives you years of reliable transportation! I like that Night Manager as a replacement for Classic/flashlight!

LOL. While my dedication to the cause is indeed zealous, Case 6445R scouts are actually easy to find on auction. They're hard to find at a cheap price, but they're out there. Just leave the really good deals for me. [emoji6]

It's not hard to guess what I'm carrying today.

3M4xKGXh.jpg
Thanks for the info, Buzz, and I agree to the terms of the deal you propose. :D Color of the bone in this pic is fantastic!

GT, "the geek shall inherit the earth". With a protractor I can build a house or sail the open seas.
:D:D Thanks, Alan. If you're really obsessive about knife sharpening, I suppose a protractor can come in handy as well.

As a canoesseur, I'm drooling over that photo of your Northfield, Ernie!

Spending the week with my daughter, no day care. I see a lot of sledding this week. These two are with me today, the Puma is a delight to carry and use. Puma even tapered the tang back in 66'.

Sure do like the looks of your Böker, Kris. Enjoy your time with your daughter; try to savor every minute because, looking back, they sure go by fast! (I must not be paying attention - when did Schlitz come back on the scene?? That can takes me back. Do you know the old beer-and-baseball joke about "the beer that made Mel Famy walk us"? ;))

My new Opinel is in my pocket today.

Very distinctive, Dean. What size is that, and is the handle bubinga?

My saw cut totes for today:

Good to see you and your photos back for the holidays, Primble; such incredibly clear details in your (and Dean's) photos! If I wanted to be able to read the marking on a nickel, my photo would have to be the nickel and nothing else! Oh, to have some skills! :o

...
Thanks, Gary! Duly noted. ;)

I'm really liking the "This Week's" greatest cutlery approach you've been taking.
Thanks, Dee. :) I'm just not decisive enough to choose 2 different knives each morning. I have my pre-planned weekly schedule, and just have to "reload" a dozen new knives each Sunday evening or Monday morning.

It's miserably dark, cold, wet and windy here in the Western Isles. I'm needing stainless so I'm carrying this old Buck 703 that was gifted me by Sitflyer some time ago.

...
That looks like a weatherproof Buck, Paul!

2012 BF Knife for me today

I never noticed the "horizontal divide" in the jigging on that knife before, Erik. Kind of cool; it reminds me of little piles of coins stacked on top of one another with the top stacks slightly offset from those underneath. And that "pyramid" thing in the background kind of continues the same stacking motif! (Is that actually deliberate??)

Thanks to rreddon (AKA Knife-Santa):

Pretty cool purple copperlock, r8shell! Well done, Randy!:cool:

So enamored with this little Case CV pen that I've added it to my everyday pocket stuff. So thin it's the perfect watch pocket knife.

Easy to understand why you added the Christmas present to your EDC, Clay. I really like your mesh organizer for carrying those three tools!!

It's a cold, overcast day here so I'm carrying a wooden Buck to warm things up :)

Another stunning Buck 501, a model that never caught my eye until a month ago at most, I think, and now I'm seeing them all over! I'm a sucker for shields or tang stamps that represent real things like animals or tools, so I love the bison shield!

Yesterday.

Today's carry for Wooden Wednesday..... Ebony & Ebony

IMG_20140407_135805_zpsbuww65dg.jpg
Excuse my inexperience (ignorance?), but will you please ID the knife (and little thingy in the foreground) in your top photo, Dee?
The double ebony for Wooden Wednesday is a striking pair!

today I'm carrying a lovely Christmas present from my in-laws.
Nice present, W.M.B., and I really like the bare trees reflecting in the blade to make it look kind of like damascus!

Have this pair with me today
Old%20cross%20and%20northwoods.JPG
Really like that color combo, P&G! What model Vic is that orange Alox old cross knife?

This Mite is taking up residence in my pocket a lot lately  Maybe because it's useful & reminds me of better times?

IMG_4303.jpg
Very nice one, Will; I'm a big fan of that shield shape. Is that the knife from the infamous carrots photo??

After several hours of digging out and cleaning up sidewalks after a Christmas day Ice Storm this is what I slipped in my front pocket. Charlies lastest HJ in ebony:thumbup:

Ice storms are the worst! Sorry you had to go through that, Paul. :( That HJ must make you Happy and Jubilant, though!

Recycled pic.

The pic may be recycled, but my admiration is fresh for that multifaceted knife, Bob!

...
Coco in my pocket today; a slim companion.

Hey, it's good to see your 66 Slim Calfroper again, Dean! (And I used a pencil like that yesterday; thanks!)

Snacking with the mini copperlock, baguette, morbier cheese and some Serrano ham.

Both knife and snack are awakening some hunger in me, cchu! ;)

Today I was Totin some Rosewood. :D

That Viper is looking good, Ron, from its pointy tip to its classy lanyard!

Wow, Steve, is that Ulster scout new? What set of tools does it have? I'm in favor of more pics if you are!!

That's a prime Beer Scout Knife, tmd!

My SAK this week is actually spelled BSA scout (thanks, Paul). On a whim, I used it this morning to slice up apples, grapes, apricots, carrots, celery, and green pepper for my oatmeal; man, I LOVE the blades on those old Imperials!

Thanks! I love animal shields as well. We live about 20 minutes from a national park where there are free roaming bison, so this knife was an absolute MUST as soon as I saw it.

Thanks Gary. I'm looking forward to pics of yours carrying that two bladed Northfield Barlow. ;) I don't think I've ever seen a lockback Canoe before. One thing I've noticed in your pics of RR knives is the nice consistent dye jobs they apply on their bone.

Here's today's choices. I love the size of the BRK. It seems to wind up on my belt a lot since I received it. :)

Thanks Gary, the Boker is a great knife, very well made with nice stag. The saw has double row of teeth and works quite well. I cherish any time I can spend with my daughter, thank you. That is one reason we are making a lifestyle change this coming year. I haven't heard that joke, but I think I get it. That is just an old Shlitz can, I collect beer nostalgia. Have a great day.

I've just got back from my trip to the North Yorkshire coast :) Been carrying these two, along with my KL74 Dutch Army Knife. All the sea air and steep hills have left me worn out, so I'm off for an early night! :D Catch up with you all tomorrow :)

GT Thanks, it's the carrot top knife alright :D with a shot of my almer mater in the background. That shield does work well on a small broad knife:thumbup:
