I'm also looking forward to the review on the Ka-bar stockman... it looks similar to my Canal Street stockman except for the shield. I may have to pick up one... the dog sort of resembles my bloodhound.

Imperial scout :) I believe its a 40s to 50s model, but not 100% sure to be honest. I restored it, when I got it only main blade would open and had A LOT of blade play so repeened both ends.

I'm totin' this Bret Dowell Trapper with a semi-skinner (Bose Pattern) smaller size
it's 3-5/8. Hope everybody has a great weekend....

Canal Street is making them for Ka-Bar. Moose posted that it's okay to say it, so I'm assuming he finally got the go-ahead from John (Ka-Bar) and Wally (Canal Street).
I've been rotating it into carry a good bit, and taking usage pics when I think about it. Will post a review once I gather lots of photo material.
It's a good knife, on a par with some of my best stockman knives, and I really like the choice of 440C.

Today's carry though is the bottom Moore Maker. Just felt like a yellow day.

Great looking knife. I have the same on but new. How did you get such an even patina on that blade? I want mine to look like that.

Great looking knife, and I agree, it is a particular joy to see a knife that gets some use. regards, John

I have a new old stock Buck 307 that's been sitting around on my desk for a few months. Sharpened it up nicely and plan to stick with it for a while. So far I like the bulk of it.

Today I'm carrying the most slender of all toothpicks, my File & Wire III in ATS-34, 4-1/4" OAL.
Pictured below with the 4" GEC, you can see just how slender this S&M really is.
