• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Classic, Gev! All three of those can take a licking and keep on ticking.

I carried this one on a hike today.

Thank you kindly, Dean:D Splendid old Case and love the photograph. Hope the hike was rejuvenating.

Thank You Bob!! (BigBuscuit)
Bob had this Case XX Split Back whittler on the exchange and I sent him a PM for a trade. He said no.....the knife is yours. :)
It just arrived and into my pocket it went.
You're awesome Bob. :cool::D

I've been there since I got my stag Wall Street. It is just exactly what I want to carry right now. I try every morning, but fail to switch out.

Markesharp. That is unbelievable! Bob is such a great guy, it's obvious. I know he really liked that one. He and I discussed it in the context of the Norfolk and upcoming Eureka just a few days ago.

I feel like a stranger here, considering how little time I've spent on The Porch so far this year. February will be different, I hope!

Nothing compared to GT, who carries about a dozen at a time. :D
When I do come here, I go so fast that I miss stuff! Rachel, I didn't even notice until this evening that you've been spreading true rumors about me! ;)

Nothing wrong with that. I carry a few myself. Right now I'm carrying at least 3 traditionals every day. Gotta love carpenter jeans with big pockets.
Amen, VH! Surprisingly active thread about that recently.

For this Wooden Wednesday I made an executive decision to be more Presidential ......;):D

Those Presidentials are marvelous knives, Ron, and yours is no exception: gorgeous!
And your 66 Slim is totally stellar!

IT all makes sense to me GT. I would not make fun of you:thumbup: Although I only recently started collecting again, I have pretty much always carried a knife, unless I'm getting on a plane. I'm thinking now that I don't find myself in offices etc. anymore, I should start carrying two....or more? 12, I don't think I'm prepared to go there!

Two nice and interesting looking knives there bud!
Thanks for the kind words, Alan. :)

GT, let me know what you think about the Black Jacket, I always wanted to try one since the first Yellow Jacket now that that Camillus has changed hands I wonder if the quality is equal or not. I remember when they first came out, they certainly were a lot more than they are now. Is the CF an inlay or just a laminate/decal glued in? IIRC the original was very nicely done and the CF was at least thick enough that you couldn't bend/break it.
...
Ted, I'm not sure about the carbon fiber. My guess is it's a (quite thin) inlay fit under a little lip built all the way around the stainless liner, but I suppose it could be glued in; don’t think it’s just a decal. I don’t know much about steel, but the Black Jacket is supposed to be AUS8 (?), which someone thought was a good stainless - I just read that in some thread here. It sure sharpened up easily for me, and I’m not used to that.

With the talk of carrying multiple knives, I have carried as many as 16 between pockets and belt sheaths, with different uses in mind for each.
If you need ‘em, you need ‘em, right?? :D (I wonder if it’s something in the air in central Indiana; I lived in Lafayette for over 10 years long ago! )

I'm going to say you have an above average carry every day, Gary! There was a fellow here on BladeForums many years ago (he may still be here, but I don't go to the General Knife discussion forum anymore) who had a coat that had a passel of pockets in it for his knives. I think he had you beat, but not by much!:thumbup:
Thanks for giving me something to which I can aspire, Dean!!;)

Carried this RR sowbelly yesterday.
FBC, that RR model introduced me to the sowbelly stockman pattern, and I find them hard to resist now.

Here are some of the knives I'm carrying this week.
