What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great knives everyone!

I carried these two today. A Lloyd in stag and a Vic Electrician.

Have a good one!

Ken K.
I like that Lloyd, Ken! Good looking stag.

My pleasure, my friend! Atiger found a Beekman barlow masterpiece and i had to get mine out. I carried it for some time and love the pattern. I think its called the Anglo Saxon.

Nice work Mark, look forward to the outdoor shots, great looking bone covers and a full blade:cool::thumbup:

Thanks, Jack.
That photo of your Davison sheepsfoot with the sheep pasture (and beyond) background is one of my favorite knife photos!

Cool reading list, Jack! When I was a lad, I repeatedly read a book titled Gods and Heroes that had belonged to one of my grandmothers when she was in school around 1920. Inspired me to take Latin in high school, take a Classical Mythology course in college. I need a Greek folder!! ;) Any recommendations?

Superlative stag pair, Jack!

Thanks for the kind words my friend, I'm struggling to keep up with this thread myself! Sounds like a great book. I did Classical Studies at school for several years, not sure they even have that subject in our schools here now

Great line-up GT, but for me, your Zorrow Barlow always stands out :)

Great pic Gev

That's a good stockman, Jack. I have a few and carried the same one every day for many, many years.

Thanks my friend, I really like that pic :)

Haven't posted in a loooooong time, just got busy with life, etc. I have missed the porch greatly, and hope to be around more often. (I tried to catch up on this thread, but it would take a solid week :) ).

Welcome back Tom! :)

That's a nice pattern Alan

Good one! I know the saying, but did not know to whom it was attributed--I'll look it up. Well, I do appreciate a cigar every now and then, that part is covered--I can confirm... and I'll jus have to walk down to the nearby stables to test the horse-watering function! Sometimes folks from the stables ride their horses (or give lessons in riding) right down my street.

I'm not 100% certain I got it from Bernard S Mason's Woodcraft & Camping, but I don't recall reading another US outdoor writer as a kid, and that was a real favourite of mine :)

That looks great r8shell :)

Rushing to complete this post as I dash out of the house with a TC Barlow and IXL Sheepsfoot, and Photobucket is bombarding me with ads - so much for going 'ad-free' :rolleyes) Have to add pics later :grumpy:

This was my Grandpaw Johns "nice" knife. Didn't get all use and sharpening of his other knives. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

I have this exact knife from my grandfather, only it was his user knife and got all the use and sharpening.

Going to carry this big Case to give it a fair shake, even if it's more than I normally carry.
