What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today I took out the Precise Deerslayer Classic, a Japanese version of the Sodbuster with a Lockback.

Great timing. Just last night I took out my Precise Deerslayer Classic for a picture. Mine was a grail that I drooled over for months as a kid, as I saved money for it. This shiny bone handled beauty teased me, as it sat in the display case of my local sporting goods shop. I would ride my bike down to the store almost every Saturday to handle it, worried that someone would buy it before I could. It never dawned on me that they may have more of the same model. That knife accompanied me on many camping trips, scout outings, and helped clean a fair number of trout. Not to mention sharpened a lot of sticks. [emoji3]

Good to hear. Take a full spectrum vitamin and mineral if you can...your body needs the raw materials.

Thanks pal :) I went for pizza! :o :D But I'll be sure to get plenty of vitamins and minerals down me today :)

Both lookers, but I love that Boker Randy, great pattern

Looking good Dean

That's typically referred to as a corset shield.

Good info Bob

Took these 2 with me today to the YMCA and then to coffee with our friends . Seldom carry them together but really like the contrast of the two .One I use a lot and the other I never use . ( Re-cycled pictures )

Hope that's not down to the cost of all those Transatlantic phonecalls Harry! ;) :D Great-looking Barlows my friend :)

As is yours Ron

High-class higonokami, Jack! Thanks for the compliments.

...

This Sanrenmu is on my keys this week. Its packaging promises great things, I think.

Thanks pal :)

Not so much as the Super-Knife I don't think! :D

I probably look a bit like a Halloween character today, so I might as well choose suitable knives! :D I'm off to get a shave, and then stagger off to try and get my strength back with a healthy vitamin-laden lunch ;) Thanks for all your concerns while I've been ill, it's been very kind of everyone :)

I'm not big on rpund ends, but that is drop dead sexy. For a knife and all lol

I hope you're right. I'm gonna stockpile them this time around lol.

Thanks! That is #1054. 3 9/16 closed, ats34. It was my first custom and yes, he made it for me specific to my request. I had it made in orange g10 so I wouldn't lose it when dropped in the woods (as 5k said lol) and the g10 is near indestructible. It's been dropped, it's dinged, scratched and used, but it's reliable. The walk and talk is more like song and dance!

And the original from Todd. She's been with me through a lot.

Thank you so much for that information. I think the specs you asked for are right on the mark. Such a great looking and functional knife - and as you say, indestructible. MJ.

The name "Deerslayer" alone was marketing genius to snare many a young boy.

I love the unique look of those knives. I'm sure the "traditional" purists hate it though.

Looking good! There's a lot of warmth and character in the tone of the bone on your Barlow. Just splendid! :)

Thanks! It's my first and only #77 and first "real" Barlow. If I had a complaint about it, it'd be that I wish the sawcut scribes were a bit deeper. On mine they don't seem as deep as other sawcut covers I've seen images of. But then, what do I know? I'm just a kid. ;-)

Two smoking gems, my friend! Red just brings out the smiles :D Thanks for the kind words on my pair yesterday

Electric indeed! Super combo. And inspired me to put a FB in my pocket today ;)

Man o man...that's four pages back and I still did not see that Mason in bamboo. That is one classy knife and sticking in my brain

Edit: I see I missed so many fine ones and just can't cover them all. Gary...thank you and your the man :D:thumbup::thumbup:

I always enjoy your photos of scout knives, Buzz, and this one is my favorite yet.

Beautiful knife, all around. Greg!

Thanks Dean. I hope you and your lovely TC had a nice hike!

Hey, welcome back, Greg! That's a fine Craftsman for a fine craftsman.

Thanks, GT. You're very kind. :)

I don't think I've ever seen your (or any) Sanrenmu before. It's a fascinating knife.

Nice WhittlinAway! I like that.

Thanks Alan. I've been enjoying it.

That's a beautiful photo of your Forum Knife, Macchina.

I took the scenic route to work this morning:
