I'll be carrying my imperial peanut for the week again, but this time it looks a bit different than before.
it was brought to my attention by one of the other winners that the white plastic covers ( I thought they were a thin glued on scale ) are nothing more than a plastic film which I'm guessing had to have been heat shrunk to the metal. I took a look and noticed mine was coming off a tiny bit, so I went ahead and simply peeled it off.
Now I think it looks 10x better and don't have to worry about it coming off on its own.

Still catching up on this thread! A few days is enough to make me several pages behind.

Splendiferous Northfield, Dadpool! How are you liking the carbon steel? I think FDR, in commenting on carbon steel blades, said, "We have nothing to fear except fear itself."

Thanks! And yes, so far it's been nothing to worry about. I keep it clean and dry it off as needed, but that's no different than my stainless knives.

The patina is coming along nicely, and I've been taking regular photos with an eye to possibly posting some sort of patina diary. It's already got a chip in the bone, too (a spot where the jigging was particularly fragile, near a pin), so it's a certified user on all fronts. ;)

It has been sometime since I've posted here. All the knives listed in this thread motivate me to share these. They have been daily companions for years.

Going to stuck in the office most of the day so I'm carrying my Yankee Jack. Hopefully cutting apples for break, and lunch will get the patina train rolling. Have a great day guys.

Whenever I don't know what to carry, the Camillus C4 goes into my pocket. It's an "all based covered" kind of knife.:D:thumbup:

Inspired by a couple of Bucks I saw in this thread yesterday(?), I decided to carry my Buck whittler along with my favorite Barlow.
