What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks GT. That's a nice JJ Martinez sob buster. I wish more companies offered sods in stag. I'm thinking about picking up a silver stag sod buster to fill that gap.

That short pocket works great for saks. I sometimes put a huntsman in there with a lanyard on it.
Thanks, VH. I have 3 knives from JJ Martinez, and they're not show pieces, but they sure are satisfying users!

Carrying these two.

Those are a couple of monumental TC Barlows, toppygray! (Since the background mentions "perfection", I have to add my opinion here that true perfection will only be attained with a 2-blade version of that heart-stopping antique amber sawcut. ;))

Traveling companion! Here we are in New Mexico near the Trinity Site.
To a midwesterner like me, that is an intriguing photo, YellowSwiss; that landscape is totally alien to my experience!

Those Black Cats are surprisingly (to me anyway) satisfying knives, aren't they, WMB?

Back in the pocket after one whole day off...

That's a striking Weasel, GE Jr (and a scary Wabbit )!!

Another phenomenal photo from the Travman "Two Dogs" collection!

Today just doing small jobs around the house today with my 3 Old Sheffield Friends .

I admire your Tres Amigos, Harry!

...
I'm heading out for a hike tomorrow, and the weather forecast says sunshine :) Packing these two with me. Have a great weekend everyone

Looks like a more than capable fair weather pair, Jack! Even if the weather turns, you'll be ready for heavy seas with that Anchor knife! ;)

Great photo of your #13, Jeff! You should sell a copy of the pic to a dictionary so they could put it by the definition of "sharp and pointy"! :D

Carrying this recently acquired Bret Dowell 'Improved Trapper' today. Measures 3-13/16" closed, ATS-34 steel, Culpepper bone scales.

I haven't noticed you around much lately, Jake (but my attention may be wandering). But when I do see you appear, you make grand entrances like this one!!! What an outstanding knife: blade shape, bolster design, bone color and jigging, shield all stupendous!:thumbup:

...
At least you have an excuse. I've got a box of Fruity Pebbles in my pantry, and my kid's not even old enough to eat cereal.
True confessions! :D
Congrats, SVT! And no, it's never too early. :D I took this photo when my daughter was just a day or two old.

(Now she's 8 months old, and today she learned how to climb stairs; made it up three of 'em all by herself -- with me standing behind her, of course. Guess it's time to put up a baby gate.)

Carrying my Ebony Crown Lifter today.

Babies with sharp stuff, and whiskers on kittens,
Silver and black knives on spring leather mittens,
Ebony Crown Lifters on ball glove strings,
These are a few of my favorite things!

What model are those whittlers, Dee? That's not a version of the 57, right? Sure are remarkable!:thumbup:

I don't know about everyone else, but I am ready for the weekend!! :D Today was all OO Dixie.......... ;)

33771402411_bda36c80f0_b.jpg
Ron, you might have the nicest examples of OO on BF, OK?;) I always remember your OO 73, but I apparently forgot all about your ravishing OO Dixie stockman until you posted it, and I thought, "How could I forget that??" Blades and covers simply stunning!

Speaking of stunning, Tim, that 38 is a total knockout!

The Winchester Swell-Centre Pen is coming along very nicely I think.

Good job it's Saturday!:D

Your Winchester pen is flawless, Will!

A custom and my trusty Primble on a gorgeous sunny Saturday :).

Hey, great to see one of your legendary pairs, Tom!

I like to carry this random auction site find on weekends. Makes the weekends feels bit more special.
"zenith / marshall wells hardware company"

MOP game is lit :D
That's a "pearl of great price" that the guy in the Bible parable sold everything he had to possess!

...
Thanks, Gary! Oh, you mean the toy soldier in the photo.:) (former Army guy says).
...
Today, I have my 1970 Case barlow with me.

You sure have some exquisite Barlows, Dean!
Sorry for the confusion! :( Yeah, I was referring to the toy soldier, although with all your walking, I'm sure a former Army guy like you is in good shape, too! ;) When I was a lad, we never called those toy soldiers (or tin soldiers), always just army guys (as opposed to cowboys and Indians - we had a bunch of those figures too). We'd set up formations of army guys in the drafty, cold Big Room upstairs in our farmhouse, then use pigs from the "farm set" as artillery shells that we'd fire toward the soldiers from the spring latches of old suitcases that were stored up there. Fun Times! :D

I pulled out a Rough Rider marlin spike knife to help me make lunch today:

It was a long stressful week, so I spent Saturday afternoon sitting on my porch whittling with my new Old Timer Carving Jack.

A beer and a few Band-aids later, I'm relaxed. :)

I am going on week two, with no knife in my pocket.I am traveling in several Countries for work, carry-on only. I still reach for my knife daily. Visiting this thread is good therapy!

Nice composition Ted

I admire your Tres Amigos, Harry!

Not sure how I missed that pic, great line-up

Lol nice Jeff.

With me today:

Today I have my Arthur Wright lambsfoot with me. It was a gift from the one and only Jack Black and I thought it looks good sitting atop my book about Stan Shaw that also came from Jack.
