Thanks for the likes on this Le Thiers by Chambriard, she's a beauty for sure and carrying her today as well;

They do a great job on grinding the blade, down to a very thin edge that cuts great, as with some of the French knives, you do need to manually close the blade into the handle otherwise the springs force can cause it to smack the back spring, no kick on the blade, a small bump on the back spring keeps it above but the force of the spring can over power that, so just some common sense care is all it takes to prevent that. I have inlayed a bit of rubberized cork to help in case someone that is looking at it doesn't close it correctly.

Gary, that's such a beautiful knife. It's lines when open are so together that I didn't realize it's a folder until you mentioned it.:thumbsup:

Thanks Tom, they are very elegant folders, the plunge grind angle matches the angle of the bolster face, just well done.
add to that the file worked back spring and stag, it adds up to a very sharp folder, both in looks and edge ;)

Your iron wood is one of my favorite Davison's of all times.

Yes, planterz, i usually don't care for the pinches either but I let Todd do what he wanted with this one. And it works. Nice little addition I feel now. I don't carry it as often as I should. I hate to mess it up but have been told lately that ivory is tougher than people give it credit for. It was used for Q-balls at one time, for crying out loud lol!

Going low budget on the farm today. A Cold Steel Eland modded to resemble an Andalusian navaja. The German Krapp (oops, that's Krupp ;)) steel holds an edge OK, but does make short work of bread and cheese for my breakfast and baling twine to open the horses' breakfast.

That Kutmaster stockman is major-league, FBC!! :cool: I picked up a delrin model that looks very similar, but by the time I got it cleaned up, I discovered both springs were broken. :(

Actually, a two-sowbelly week, since I have a Marbles stag bone sowbelly "bonus knife" that I got from Randy that I'm carrying this week to help keep him in my thoughts while he's recovering from his recent surgery (thanks, Randy - heal up fast, sir! :thumbsup:):

Thanks gary, that's a bummer about the back springs. If I see a good one show up, I will be sure to let you know.
