What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Terrific knives everyone.

Thanks for the comment Gary. To answer your question, the knife is a GEC 55 Dog Leg Jack.

I carried just one today.

Have a great day all!

Jack, thanks for the compliments! Your pair for the day are both terrific "Pocket Companions"!

Thanks a lot Ron :)

Thanks Jack! Hope your week slows down; both are lookers but especially like the Sheffield

Carrying a knife that I don't use nearly enough, an AG Russell Cattaraugus Trapper. The main blade locks and is released by depressing the sheepsfoot inward towards the back springs.

Thank you Tom, that is a very interesting Trapper

Thanks Jack, that's an admirable tang-stamp and stovepipe kick you show today:thumbsup:

Thanks Will, it's my only Joseph Haywood :)

An old throwback, one of my first Case knives, I got it as a work knife but it was soon replaced by a Schrade 51OT because of the nature of my job I needed a sturdy lockback, now some 30 years later my requirements aren't as stringent and I can enjoy non locking blades offered by the more traditional patterns. Anyway, I saw ti's in the box and wiped it down, a quick stopping and a few drops of oil in the joint and it was ready for some pocket time and use, Man I wish that was all I needed, a wipe down a oil in the joints. :D ;)

This has always competed with my Alox Farmer as a favorite take a walk down the trail knife, the Farmer usually wins on account of the saw but the Case Camper saw it's fair share of use over the years. :)

Outstanding!!!!

Very nice Gev! Just a terrific photo and contents! :D

Back home from the Root Canal that took up my morning! I took time to make a new cell phone photo of my Wooden Wednesday carry for today!!! (How about you Gary?) :D

Thank you kindly Sir ! Much appreciated and always a real treat to see that gem!!!

Queen Jack in D2 and Cherry Delrin.
Can't tell in this photo, but the pen blade sits in front of the clip, allowing both to be opened from the same side. A big plus to me.

Thanks Gary. The one thing I noticed about the jigged bone is that it is much lighter than either wood or especially stag.
Thanks for the weight comparison data, Alan.

Thanks GT! You laid out my plan perfectly. I do carry two knives. The Peanut will ride in the watch pocket permanently and the right front pocket just below it is reserved for my rotation.
Makes sense to me, Rick!

LOL! Luggage, GT, carrying on luggage. :D

A lovely Imperial jack you've got there, and a lovely story to go with it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Greg. ;) And, lest I forget, that "Right Lambsfoot" carving you sent to Jack is inspired!!:thumbsup:

Haha, Gary. I should have known that you would come up with another one. That Tarmundi sure is a cool lookin' knife.

Thanks, FBC. Your BBW whittler is sure a beauty! Did you use it to make the little ball in the photo?

Thanks GT, I can understand why you'd keep that in your pocket an extra day :)

Always a treat to see your Taramundi GT

Crazy busy this week, need to catch up  Hope everyone is having a good week

Got these two in my pocket today

I appreciate the kind words, Jack. :) I hope your work pace slackens soon;that pair of knives looks as if it can handle life in the fast lane!

Thanks. I made them in a sculpture/casting class years ago. It's the world's heaviest peanut. :)
Cool covers, r8shell!!:cool: My old eyes didn't realize what they were looking at for a while. My first thought was the knife had been dipped in silver paint (and one end wrapped in wire) to try to arrest a bad case of outgassing!

Tc copperhead sawcut barlow and Bret Dowell jigged bone Panama trapper for today.

Phenomenal photo and Phish Barlow, Gev!

Ravishing Norfolk, Bob! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

This Scout was actually my very first GEC that I sought out and bought new after seeing a picture of one on this thread years ago.

Those 2-blade, EO, sheepsfoot Scouts sure look like splendid knives, Macchina!:cool:

Gary, thanks for the compliments my friend! Always a treat to see your Taramundi  Maybe, just maybe on Wednesday! ;)

Thanks for the Taramundi compliment, Ron. :) I hope your teeth will be pain free from now on! Great photo of that superlative OO 73!:thumbsup: (Are you asking me if I took time to make new knife photos? Not likely! For me, knife photography is time-consuming and painful, not unlike root canals! So once I get an acceptable shot of a knife, I rarely update to a more recent photo. Doesn't Ecclesiastes 12:12 say something like: of making many knife pics there is no end; and much photography is a weariness of the flesh? ;))

Thanks GT! And well remembered, yeah I have orange in the pioneer and the farmer sub-species, the farmer is one of my absolute favorites. Great pic of the Tarmundi, not sure what you would call that blade shape; sort of an upswept sheepsfoot? Looks like a heck of a slicer

Thanks for clarifying your orange Alox situation for me, Tom; you need an orange Cadet, too! ;)
That's a tricky trapper you have there! I like that little inset screwdriver!:thumbsup:

No sir, but I've considered taking up the trade. :)
If you've got the gift, go for it!:cool::thumbsup:

Striking ebony barehead, Ken! Thanks for the ID info on your previous photo. I think I should give up on trying to guess the identity of knives; just too much variety for my feeble memory to store!!

Had these 3 with us today as we put in our vegetable gardens . Belknap Barlow , Hibbard , Spencer , Bartlett , & Co. for the Wood , and the Big Ol Catt which is a great gardening knife .

Wonderful pair of folders there, Harry! I have an old Belknap Blue Grass Barlow, but mine is Delrin, I think, and the main blade has some serious recurve.

I'm going to be stuck in the house working all day, but got my Lambsfoot in my pocket :)

Great photo of your smaller horn lambsfoot, Jack!

My Alox knife this week is a Black Pioneer:

Beautiful horn on that one Jack!

These two kept me company on tonight's shift (almost over :D)

Thanks Chip, those are both stunning
