Cool pic of a very photogenic whittler, Greg!
Thanks for the info on the ball project you keep around! Thanks, Gary. That little ball has been around (get it?!) for a while now. Every once in awhile, I pick it up and try to make it more of a actual sphere. I fear it will be the size of a pea before I get it to were I want it.
To answer your question, I have used a couple knives on that thing. I was attempting to make some progress on it with the Winchester.
I hope you enjoy your Sheffield adventures, Jack; looks like you'll have a vivacious variety of knives with you!
Atiger, your vintage Barlows are simply overwhelming!!Old saw-cut Schrade today...

Good to see that one again, Dean; for me, its covers are Transcendently Colored!
Compelling couple of knives, Ken!...
I went with these two today.

Absolutely love the Robeson.
Very nice!!! Those cranberry scouts turned out beautifully.
I keep hoping GEC will do another run of those. I love the look of the F&F #99's!
Thanks for the info on the ball project you keep around!I've wanted to try a ball-in-cage sometime, but I thought I should "perfect" whittling a free-standing sphere first. I haven't developed an effective technique for that yet.
I hope you enjoy your Sheffield adventures, Jack; looks like you'll have a vivacious variety of knives with you! That shadow pattern is outstanding!
Can you give a thumbnail description of it?
I sure admire the way your knives look so well-used, FBC!How does your 99 compare to other "sodbuster-type" work knives?
My Bailed non-SAK of the Week is a Mercator Black Cat. I enjoy this knife FAR more than I expected I would!

In the watch pocket this week is a skinny little Colonial jack (thanks, Mark). It laughs at all my attempts to sharpen it.
