What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Still carrying the Vic Fieldmaster. I found it in a drawer cleaning up my old bedroom at dad's house and haven't stopped carrying it since. I'd forgotten how useful it is.

I was lucky enough to invited round the Taylors Eye Witness works in Sheffield earlier this week. They're looking to produce a more upmarket range than their current offerings.

These were nearing completion.

Not in my pocket yet, but I put my name on this one.

Vince, I asked if it would come with a purse, they just looked at me :D

Galz & Guyz,

You all have a splendid array of fine working cutting tools here since last I visited..

neilashton, the Taylor's Eye Witness Works samplings here appear quite extraordinary!. I especially like the one Barlow pattern you've selected to become your own.

I am visiting with folks later this evening for supper and a social gathering and have pocketed this vintage H K Parker gents Jack knife to go along.

Carrying my dad's MM8 Old Timer large stockman while doing maintenance on the two trucks today

WOW! I often carry an identical knife that my dad used to carry every day. But your looks in better condition. My dad owned a garage and used his knofe as a tool to do whatever he could ream up to use it for.

But lately I have been carrying my new Kissing Crane Rams Horn Copperhead.

Very nice knife that the picture does not do it justice. But I still often reach for dads old knife to carry, even if I seldom use it. I carry more than one and normally use another. But there is comfort in that Knife. My father in law passed away this past week and we had his funeral Friday. The whole day I was wishing I had my dads knife with me. My dad passed away ten years ago. I guess I am sentimental.

Thanks Bill. My dad was a truck driver so he got good use out of his knives. But this one was purchased some time in '88 which was close to when he retired. It was rusted and pitting when I got it from my sisters. I cleaned, oiled and sharpened it up and really love this knife. It is very well built. The backsprings are dark gray and the blades all have a beautiful gray patina to them.

It slipped out of my pocket today as I was working under my truck but my son found it and gave it back to me. I was glad I didn't lose it and will be more vigilant.

On a related note, my 11 year old son asked me to get him a small lockback today so we went to Lowe's and picked up a small Case Caliber Lockback with camo handles for $12 that he was really excited about. I have tried giving him slip joints and SAKs but he really has a thing for lockbacks.

Maybe one day he will be carrying one of my slipjoints or maybe even my dad's Old Timer. One can only hope...

Vince,

This old HK Parker is as stout as they come! Yes, great knives.. But, I never get tired of seeing that custom Howser of you'ren. Its one of the sweetest I've ever seen come out of your stables. I approve of the new name you've christened her with.. Hence forth Poboy Zulu. :D

Went a little retro today. The 2006 forum knife (Canal Street sleveboard ring knife in stag) was in my right front pocket at work did not get used until I got home and had a couple of boxes to open. Cool little knife that I have not carried in a while. A2 cuts pretty well. ;).

One of these days I gotta take my own pic.
In the meantime I'll borrow Kenny's pic, since I bought this queen cattle king from him:
